Doesn't it suck being the "what not to be" child of the family? I'm 21 and live by myself. My little brother is a pot head, yet he's better than me, the eldest whom is dating an older men, who is an atheist, who is still trying to find out what the hell she's trying to do in with her life. I admit, they have nothing but good intentions and they can be helpful. I do not hate them, I love them. However, they're kind of hateful. They constantly badger me about my stances politically. None of my opinions hold any merit to them. There's always something wrong with me. How I act, dress, what I believe. They ask me constant personal questions. I cannot tell them anything about myself. It feels like they expect me to do whatever they want. They won't but out of my affairs. Especially my father...for example he's anti gay marriage, I'm pro gay marriage. He always equates it to bestiality and polygamy. He always says "vote Republican."

Life at home sux, my grades suk, and really now the only one who cares for me is my boyfriend. He's asked me to marry him and to move in with him, I answered yes to both, and now I'm trying to move in with him but everytime I do I get beat for trying to sneak out of the house. He's tried to get me out of my house ((boyfriend)), but gets yelled at by my dad. The only chance we get to see each other is at youth and we don't do anything, yet my dad never speaks to me about three days after I get home, and when he does it's nothing but yelling. Some times I just wish both my parents were drunks who didn't give a **** about what I do with my life because now their just to over protective. I can't even say I love you to my bf because my dad says I'm too young to love...even though i'm almost 16. Can someone help me???????

I've had 4 children and the ages range between 19 and 9. My second son has always been a pain in the bum and never was any good at listening to reason even at playgroup when he was 3. He got himself into a bit of bother with the police and was like a whirlwind when at home. My other 3 kids are fantastic, kind, calm, a joy to be with. I often hear people say that "Its the parent's fault" and get very cross because I didn't treat my No2 any different to the rest so why should I be blamed for his actions??(I would like to add that I wasn't blamed, I had the support of everyone including the police.

a daughter is writing an insight resume for a college application and tells a story how she was beaten by a boyfriend, and how her mother thought it was a blood disease, and how she told no one- and didnt tell her mother till two years later. However she emailed it to family friends, and the director of her play which is also one of the mother's co-workers. Does the mother have the right to say her daughter crossed the lines?
Lets through another bit of information, the mother doesnt like her pictures taken, and doesnt allow her daughter to write anything bad about her, but the daughter has heard the "they arent your friends they are my friends" over and over again, and should know better. Who is in the right, and who is in the wrong?...who actually, is the bitchy one?

I used to live with my husband until we separated. But we’re still seeing eachother and not living together. It’s a long story. If I decide to live with him again, my daughter’s going to take his side and tag team with him against me. Like when we were living together, and I tell my daughter it’s time to eat, her father encourages her to talk back at me, by saying, “Tell mommy that you’ll eat later because you’re playing a game with daddy.” Also, when I used to put my daughter to sleep, her father walked into her room, while I washed the dishes, and wake her up… during school nights. His excuse was that he went in to give her a goodnight’s kiss to tuck her in bed.
Fine but why not do it before I put her to sleep. He laugh and never answer my question. No matter how many times I tell them that it’s not funny and it hurts me not to be heard and respected, they say sorry and then they do it again. Sometimes he used to amuse himself by telling her to hit mommy on the butt, while I washed the dishes. It bothered me and I let them know that. He answered by saying, “Come on, we’re just playing.” Of coarse he laughed. But I don’t find it funny. Once a week I can handle it, but not everyday. There are certain things I put up with, but not the constant tease of humiliation and disobedience. I’m glad I’m free of him now…but I’m still having trouble controlling my daughter. Whenever I tell her, “Let’s do homework…it’s time to eat….Let’s get ready for a bath, sleep, etc.” She would say “No, I don’t want to. Don’t you see I’m busy playing with my toys…I’m too tired”. She also wishes we live with daddy again.
