I am going through this right now with my Grandmother. We have planned to have an "intervention" type thing, and all tell her that she needs help. I know that with Mental issues it is VERY hard to make the person that has them understand. After we talk to her and if she agrees to get help, we are going to take her to a mental hospital here. If (more than likely) doesnt agree to get help, we are going to take her to the state hospital and tell them she is a threat to herself and others, which is true. At that point they evaluate her and see what the next steps are.

It depends on which state you live in. Some states have laws that will allow you to get a family member committed. In Florida, it is called the Baker Act. You can get a family member committed for 3 daysto allow the person to get screened by a psychiatrist.
i hope that helps a little.

Either convince her that she needs to go the hospital and get checked out, or maybe call the police and say she's threatening you. I believe most states have a 72 hour evaluation program. You might try social services to.

Make her an appointment at her regular doctor. He will be able to determine if she needs any further testing/screening. I would suggest going with her and talking to the doctor privately and tell him your concerns so he can evalute her. Good luck!

I would call and speak to her Doctor. Or see about getting her an appointment to see a Therapist, they will recognize her symptoms and know whether or not she needs to be looked over on a day to day basis.

That is terrible, u must feel scared etc. Maybe u should tell her, if she don't belive u, say "Go to the doctor and find out yourself" or maybe you should call a doctor and get him to come over to your house etc. Good luck.

Just tell her to go to her regular doctor and tell him/her her symtoms and he/she will probably tell you what to do from there on.But if she needs screening just promise to go with her because that really helps and just tell her that you love her and you want her to be healthy and happy so she does need to go,just in case!Best of Luck!
