I'm 29 and have a modern outlook on life, very positive etc. I moved away from home at 16 but not too far. Basically I look around and see everyone younger than me, my brother, sister etc. with such old fashioned tastes etc. I have a flat, very minimilist, and here they are decorating their house with daido rails, coving and awful, awful wallpaper. They buy these 'room dividers' or wall units in mahogany and put ornaments in them of birds and wolves for goddsake. When questioned they just don't why they do it! I mean yes our parents were like that, but surely people can think for themselves! And then they all seem to follow this zombie like state: must meet someone, must have baby, must buy fibre optic plastic decoration from argos. And the other thing is, fellow 'answerers' is they say they'd love to decorate like me but they cant afford it! Yes you can, a tin of paint, throw your c***py furniture out and do something with your life! Rant over. I despair.

you see a child kiss their adult family members on the mouth? I am over 30 and I get uncomfortable when my older family members try to kiss me on the mouth (m/f) and when they do it to my other relatives as well. I may just be desensitized from the warped way society has been revealed lately, so I am just asking.

I weigh my wife every Wed. and Sunday. Last wed, I noticed she had gained 2.5 lbs ( she is 5'7" and my ideal weight for her is 107 lbs ), Today I weighed her and she was 111 lbs. I gave her a good tongue lashing and pulled her hair cause she gained weight. I'm going away with my friends to Hawaii for 10 days, for pleasure and sun. She will stay home cause we have a big garden ( I grow our veggies for her so she stays thin ) that needs to be taken care of. I'm leaving in a week so I thought, if I make her lose 14 lbs, there is no chance she will get fat by the time I get home ? Anyone have suggestions ? BTW, I make her excercise daily ( 4 times a day ) So it's just a diet I need to make sure she keeps in the shape I demand of her...thank you in advance.

I tell you this woman is driving all of us Nut's!!! She is almost 50 and she repeat's her self and lies so darn much, that none of her 3 adult children want to have anything to do with her. She has lost her mind. My father stand's beside her even tho he know's that she is full of bull hockey!! My brother is getting married and she is starting the circus!! 2 weeks and counting and Im sure someone will be in trouble. I have asked her to quit calling and she just down right refuses. Not only is it affecting my family, but I am just ready to pull my hair out! She act's like she is 15 and everyone owes her. Short of finding a shallow hole for her I dont know what to do with her anymore. She is ruining lives and she does not feel one bit bad about it. She manipulates every subject and trys to make everyone feel guilty and bad for her becuase she sits on her a@@ This has gone on way to long!! How do I stop it once and for all??

I'm a mom with a girl (age 9) that is wondering about some big stuff. She came home the other day and was quiet so I asked her if anything was wrong and she started asking me all these questions.
-'I saw you and dad lastnight and you were both naked. You had something big and long in you boodie, what was it?'
-'When dad said can I f-ck you a$$ to you (mom) what does he mean?'
Now you know her questions. She also wants to know why boys have 'the thing' girls don't have.
I don't know what to tell her. I want to explain everything so she isn't lost but I don't know how to start or tell her. Should me and my husband show her?
HELP!!!

Perhaps someone important in your life such as your mom or dad gave you some advice that changed the way you look at life? This is a serious question though the answers can be anything from heavy to light as long as the advice made an impact on you.

I had my son when I was 19 and I dont like to say "it ruined my life" b/c I have my son, he is beautiful, and has inspired me to change many things about myself in a positive way. However, I always had this desire to do something big like media, acting, whatever(my parents did). When I had my son most of those things kind of just were erased.I have struggled so much all the way through his life and all though I have a wonderful partner I feel somewhat jelous at his freedom hes had (hes done media things) It so hard as I still have no qualifications and I have been in college consist for 7 years. Its been impossible for me to get a degree at this rate but I am still trying.I dont want to feel like I ruined my life, I want to feel free and I also want to emrace my decisions. I know this is a deep kind of questions but how can I get to this place in my mind. I know I need to keep trying. I have lost alot of self confidence having this be my life for the last 6 yrs.

He explained to me that he thought my mother had givien me up for adoption. There was never any dna testing or anything done. WHen his current wife found out I contacted him she called and threatened that I better never contact them again or I will be in trouble for harrassment. Is this true? Would I be in trouble if I tried to contact hime again? I don't even know his current address, because she kind of frightened me off a few years back. What should I do?

They live in a 2 bedroom and the sister has her own room. The boy could sleep on a futon but wants to sleep with his dad or at least the same room. The family is going through a divorce and have been living in an apartment for the last 8 months -- which is how long this has been going on for.

I am 23 and my husband is 25. We have been together for 5 years and married for 2 years. I finished college, have a great job, and we own a 3 bedroom house. We will have our house paid off in 9 months and then we will have no debt. We are living a comfortable life. We have traveled all over and feel like we have done everything we wanted to do. We are homebodies and don’t feel the need to party or go out and are settled down.

We have been talking about starting our family for a year and know we are ready. I want to have 2 or 3 children and be done at 30. We want to try for a baby now and my mother has figured it out. She thinks 24 years old is too young to be a mother, but we don't. She said I should wait until I am 28 and I am giving up my youth at my age. I think she is bitter because she got pregnant at 18 (dating my father for a YEAR) and divorced at 24. We are trying anyways because its what WE want.

Will her attitude change? Do YOU think 24 is young to have your first baby?

my son is almost 22yrs old-and somewhat immature-he takes meds for depression and anxiety-he had to be in work at 6am today-he called me at 7am and asked me to call his manager and tell him i needed him home due to illness-he has pulled this before-i refused because his reason was he was tired and needed to sleep-it became so bad i had to take the phone off the hook in order to try to get some sleep-i was so stressed needless to say i didnt sleep at all--he called back in the afternoon to apologize--he has the same temperment as his dad-my ex-husband--when they dont get their way-they threaten and throw things-i asked him why he continues to do this-he says he was just tired--i love my son--but i dont know how to help him-he sees a psychiatrist who pretty much just dispenses his meds-i suggested he see a therapist-but he says it wont work-any help to relieve the stress would help-thanks!
