My parents always kissed us on the forehead.
When we said goodnight, we kissed our dad and mom on the cheek. I always kiss my beloved mom on the forehead when I see her! That is just the way I was raised and I am comfortable with this. I always have kissed my kids on the top of the head or forehead. I always thought that older people have too many germs and wanted to protect my children from being kissed on the lips. I would have to say that because this is the way I was raised, I am uncomfortable with kissing children on the mouth. But some people feel differently. I don't think I would have allowed my children to kiss any adult on the mouth. They always kissed their grandma and grandpa on the cheek.

I was raised by a mother who wouldn't let us eat after each other and I didn't receive any kisses on the lips or anywhere else for that matter from either of my parents and I honestly missed the affection. Now I take whatever shows of affection I get from my sister and brothers, my kids and others. So, I'm not uncomfortable but I can totally understand if others have different needs.

I'd never kiss a male family member period, but, a simple kiss with closed lips is not strange to me at all. I think that society has become too reserved when it comes to showing physical affection.

well you are 30 that's so good, only thing I see when some one kiss on your mouth,be aware of some Bacteria which can cause a lot of problem to your health,if the one who kiss you on your mouth.what if they are highly drunk (Male) or a female with some disease.Well some time you can't ignore a close person to have a kiss on your mouth..but after it try to sanitize your mouth very first.what if some one has a strong acidity.some of them they kiss you to shows there real love too..so you have to be so careful about it.

I'm 25 ... I kiss my great grandma, grandparents, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles ... all on the mouth ... and I don't see one single problem with it ... we're family ... I kissed my daddy goodbye every day when he dropped me off for school even during my high school years ... !
What makes me mad is people who can't get over the fact we're related and it's not sexual ... I dropped my daughter off at school ( she's 4 ) the other day and I heard a bunch of kids scream 'ewwwww .. that's nasty ... when I kissed her goodbye ... boy was I quick to yell back ... that's not nasty I'm her mommy .. and love her very much ... nothing wrong with kissing your loved ones ... it's called being affectionate ... !

Yeah, i think its a little much when they kiss on the mouth. It just doesnt seem normal. I think normal kiss on the cheek is fine but its a little odd and quite freaky when they kiss on the mouth and it isnt just you!

My family is very touchy feely. We kiss hello and good bye. I don't see a problem with it. But if my children were to ever not want to kiss someone I wouldn't force it either. You do what you feel comfortable doing.

Actually,I think that kissing on the mouth should be reserved for your partner. not family members.

I don't like it either. I'm not sure if I think it's gross, because it's not a passionate kiss and you don't open your mouth, but I still feel uncomfortable with it so i don't do it.

I am uncomfortable just the way you are! I think a hug is a much better way to express to your child that you love them! I gave my children HUGS!
