My grandfather is ill and about to die and I am torn between whether I should go see him or not. I have not seen him in years and disowned their whole family due to verbal and physical abuse, alcoholism, neglect, and stupidity when I was a child. My other siblings seem to have forgotten this because he is sick but I have not. They have all been to see him. Will I regret it after he dies? What should I do?

As I said, I'm only 17, my parents will not allow me to be emancipated, but wont allow me in the house. I've never gotten into any trouble with the law. And I don't want to be placed in CPS, since I only have one year until I would be kicked out. So I needed to know if there is some type of safe house or shelter that would take me since I'm only 17.

My step son and son had an altercation, my step is 13 my son is 8. 13 year old is 6ft2 and 280 pounds, my8 yearold is 88 pounds he grabbed him by the neck and pounded him into the chair, they were fighting over head phones. My husband started speaking to mr. 13 about this and mr 13 took a swing at him, my spouse wresteled him to the ground. and told him to let him know when he was done., he let him up and he started upstairs and started with beligerant words to me, like shut the f### up and i stunk etc.. my spouse slapped his face, I confided in my counslor this because it is the first time he has stuck up for me. she goes well I have a reason to call the hot line CPS. and of couse guess who visited me today.. I feel violated. Is this a violation of my privacy? I was the patient, I didn't do anything to threaten or hurt mr. 13. I am afraid of him and his anger. Did this counselor have a right to report this incident? I am left with the feeling that our kids can hurt us whenever. help

She really wants to have a birthday party..I'm thinking we could just have close family over (& maybe a friend or two) for cake & ice cream. Last year we had her party at a campground and I let the kids stay all night after the party. It was fun, but I don't want to do that again. She wants to have a party at an indoor swimming place that has tubes, slides and the whole works, but it is a good 30 to 45 minute drive for most of her friends..I'm just not wanting to do much this year. Any suggestions?

I've been waiting forever to get out of the house (wisdom teeth, then sick) and my family and I are planning to go somewhere tomorrow. But today me and my two siblings got in huge fights. I don't want to be around them at all. Now I don't feel like going tomorrow. But I was really looking forward to it. What should I do? Serious answers please-I'm not in the mood for jokers.

I'm interested to know the history and information on this (that you are considered Jewish if your mom is even if your dad isn't, where as, if your dad's Jewish and mom isn't you aren't considered Jewish). Also, is this an official opinion in the Jewish community or just for some ? If your dad is the only Jewish parent are you considered Jewish too ( aka Ben Stiller, etc.)? Thanks!

we are separated and she she spends the night with him about once per month (but visits regularly).

dad says that 7 is too old and she will be emotionally damaged if she continues to sleep in a bed with him.

i think she isn't too old until she thinks she is, and right now the only thing emotionally damaging her is him not letting her sleep in the bed bc she is a girl.

My family came from Germany to USA in 19th century. I keep getting genealogy from Jewish Winklers, we're Presbyterian but theres no telling years ago what our folks religious rights were. Wonder what majority Winkler religions are too.

In January we had to punish our 13 yo daughter, she was messing up. Maybe we were too harsh, but her behavior changed. Everything would be realy wonderful if she wasnt so resentful. Avoid talking to us, when at home is always lonely and tries to be alone. She talks or goes out with us only if forced. She's respectful but formal, doesnt act like a daughter. Refused family couseling and we didnt want to force. This situation is letting me really down. Yesterday I went out with her - it was really necessary - and we ran across a teacher she likes much; She hugged and kissed her teacher with much affection. She, the teacher, who knows about the problem noticed how sad I was (not because of the teacher, who I like too) and tried to comfort me. Daughter says it's her right to act like she does. She says we cant force her to like us and we gotta respect her silence. After all, shes a good student and we've nothing to complain about her. But this makes us suffer. Is there a solution?

Im having problems w/2 cousins. Ill call them A and B.
A hooked me up w/ her friend at the beginning of this summer. Me and the guy had sex, I dint tell her and she got mad, and said I was a whore. We stopped talking.
B has nothing to do with this, but she talks to both of us. When A comes over the house, B doesnt even talk to me. One night B went to A's house and took me off her top 8 on myspace. I dont know if it was b4 or after I took her off of mine. Anyway she replaced me with A's bf, who cheats on her all the time!
I feel like A never used to talk to B about anything until she and I stopped talking. I feel like B feels all important now and is being a ***** b/c A is giving her all the attention. Lil does she know in the long run A is trouble. Might I add that B added a picture of Mary to her myspace. Mary is the x of the boy cuz A hooked me up w/ and cuz A's bestfriend. They dated last year b4 she introduced me to him .Cuz B doesnt even know this girl well enough, I think, to have her pic on there. She doesnt even have one of me!!! Isnt that insulting?! What do I do?

I want to be a stay at home mom more than anything in the world. My husband wants to start our family right now. I need some honest opinions if we will be able to make it or not. He makes approx 2,600 a month. I figured we need 2,000 to pay all our necessary bills. This does not include food, gas etc. He wants this so bad, and keeps telling my we will be fine financially, but I don’t know. I trust him, but its a huge decision. What if we cant do it, and then I don’t have a job to go back to? I'm not sure how other families do it. We have never lived off of less than 3,000 a month, but we have always had extra spending money. Suggestions, thoughts, opinions please?
