as long as it takes until the adults with more experience feel that the teenagers takes driving as a serious privilege instead of an assumption because of age.

They should have to keep it for at least 6 months, and then after they pass the driving test to get their license, they should only have a probationary license for the first 6 months. There should be imposed restrictions such as only 1 non-related passenger in the car, or after dark having to be accompanied by a licensed driver over 21, stuff like that.

My daughter had hers for over a year before she went to take the driving test. She just wanted to make sure she was ready, and I was not going to push her. She got her drivers license just before she turned 19.

I'd say 6mo to a year. It helps you gain experience and the confidence you need to pass the test :)

depends on how responsible the teen is some should never get it and some should be able to get it sooner
