Family - August 2006

My husband and I have been trying to conceive a child for over 2 years now with no luck. I'm saddened enough that we have not been able to bring a child into our lives yet, but this feeling is made worse by all the "when are you guys going to have kids" when we attend a family function. I smile and say "when the time is right", but some are persistant with questions such as " are you even trying" , " is something wrong with one of you". I realize some people might mean well, but I find it rude, especially since they have all been told on previous occasions that we are trying, and that they would all be told if/when we conceive. How can I respond to people without hurting feelings/making an uncomfortable situation but at the same time letting them know it's not something I want to talk about? I would greatly appreciate any advice. Hubby too, is very annoyed by this.

My sister is so mean and when she is on the phone and talking to her friends she yells at me and makes fun of me and also call me mean names... I hate her for that and i hope that you help me.... Because even when i dont even do anythign to her she just is mean....

I have a very dangerous 5 year old sister and she always bothers me for no reason. Today, just a while ago, she started to beat me up just because i didn't put on a design your own doll website named dollwizard.com. I agreed to put it on if she doesn't tell anyone, becuz then every1 will say i'm wasting my time on the computer. So she says she told grandma, and i say, then no dolls. Then she starts beating on me. She tries to choke me(She is STRONG) then i pullon her hair and she lets go and screams right in my ear. And she screams LOUD! So then i hold her hands and she screams, she gets free again and starts beating. Then my dad comes and she starts to act all innocent. My dad says what i am doing to her is child abuse, but does not realize that what she is doing to me is child abuse. So i cant punish her, wen i try, she crys to my dad acting all innocent. So my dad thinks she's the weak, innocent 1, an its the opposite. What do i do?! an don say talk to them, cuz it don work!

Okay, so I'm seriously considering piercing my bottom lip twice (a snakebite). The problem is, I'm 14, and my parents have already said no a million times. I'm thinking about doing it anyway, without their permission, and then taking it out during the day when they see me, and just putting it in at night so the holes don't seal up. I have a friend who does piercings for a living, so I could get it done anytime I want. I'm an ideal daughter really. I've never done anything wrong in the past. I get straight As, my parents love me, I'm not a messed up kid or anything like that. I just really, really want to do this.....any advice for me? If you were a parent, and you found out your child had done this, what would you do?

I'll be turning 18 soon...it's senior year, so college is coming up soon as well... and I'm worried about my mother... she's always been neurotic and overprotective, and I know she's going to have trouble letting go... especially since I'm the firstborn... how can I explain things to her so she can get through it easier?

And please, no stupid answers like "SORRY HUN THANX 4 TEH 2 POINTS LOL", I'm not in the mood.

My cousin touches me, is he gay?
Yeah ok so I've got this cousin, I'm 17 he's about 20 I think, and yeah every time I go to his house he grabs me, like he rubs my back and my stomach, its cuz sometimes I go to his house and we lift weights and work out, and well we're both built, but he, he's always touching me, and when we're naked he plays around, like he says weird ****, yeah and he rubs my stomach, and my biceps, and well he just keeps touching me, he says he's playing around but i've got doubts, also I remember when we were younger like 3 years ago, I stayed over at his house and well I was sleeping in his room, he wasn't there, but he go there that night, and well yeah we slept in the whole bed, and in the middle of the night he was like humping, me I guess, and yeah he was masturbating, cuz I heard him moan, that was like the last time I went over to his place till last year, I get along with him but he's just weird, tellll me what you people think bout this ok, thanks!

I have a lot of cousins, aunts, uncles etc. here in the same city. When I was a kid we were close but as time went by, they distanced themselves from my immediate family. I plan on going to law school next year, but for some reason they think I am already in law school. Lately, I get all these calls from family that I have not even heard from in years. Of course, they want my legal advice (they dont' know that I'm not allowed to since I don't have a license yet). I don't help them - I hold a grudge against them. When my dad needed a job, my cousin didn't want to hire him - he hired a stranger instead. I invited them to both my high school and college graduations, and they didn't show up. I invited them to my wedding, and again, most didn't show. When they have family gatherings, they don't invite us. Suddenly they want to talk to me? Is it wrong to hold a grudge?The only people that have always been there are my immediate family and my in-laws.

If i cant adopt in UK i would like to adopt in Brazil or Vietnam. Would i have to pay for the child from these countries? Does the Govt help with overseas adoption or is it off your own back?
How long does it take for adoption here...am i less likely to qualify if i prefer a younger child? PS I am already a single mum

It seems recently that my parents have become so distant from me. I have one younger sister who just got married and bought a house. I am very happy for her she deserves to be happy. But it dissapoints me when my parents come down to see me and my boyfriend and never want to do anything and act like they do not want to be there or be with me. (like saying things like, well, your sister invited us to the demolotion derby tonight and we were going to go there, but since you invited us here first..i guess...) and it made me feel bad. But my question is, i know they are going to go to my sisters house for christmas. Christmas has been huge for us in our family, but ive been so distant from all of them lately physically and mentally (family lives 1-4 hours apart) My boyfriend and i with his family have two places to go within 30 mins of where we live for the holidays. Is it wrong of me to skip christmas with my family because of the mental and physical distance and go with his fam?
