If i cant adopt in UK i would like to adopt in Brazil or Vietnam. Would i have to pay for the child from these countries? Does the Govt help with overseas adoption or is it off your own back?
How long does it take for adoption here...am i less likely to qualify if i prefer a younger child? PS I am already a single mum

It is illegal to pay for children, although you will have to pay 'administration costs'. Current UK legislation required that you are vetted by a UK based adoption agency before you can adopt children from abroad to ensure that the high standards applied in this country are maintained. It is also a means to prevent unsuitable people having access to vunerable children from abroad.

The costs for adopting are tremendous anywhere you go to adopt. Plus there are other things to consider when you adopt from a country that you are unfamiliar. Healthy children? Legality of the adoption. I have know several people that have adopted from china. They have all said it took lots of time..If I remember it took months and years. Its never easy to get young children versus older children because everyone wants to adopt the babies first but it doesn't make you any less qualified. Why wouldn't you be able to adopt where you are at? If you can't adopt there you might not be able to adopt elsewhere.
Good Luck in your search.

Yes, you need to pay for the admin costs, and it is quite high, plus I don't think Vietnam allow UK parents to adopt anymore, although I could be really wrong about that.

Internationally, you have to go through an agency. Fees vary greatly by country and agency.
