I am a step mother to 3 children ages 10-15. I have no where to call my own in our house. The children are always wondering where i am etc. I am a smoker and I am careful to go outside etc. Last evening I had stepped outside to smoke and my 15 year old step daughter told her dad the smoke was still coming in her room on the other side of the house or maybe thru her vent. He informed me and I said I guess I have to go out to the street to smoke... I realize this is a horrible habit... but I feel like I am a 40 year old adult and if I want to smoke in my yard, driveway i should be able to .....I was shocked she complained to him......she is a very irresponsible child with bad grades and an attitude problem....I am always picking up after her or taking care of her messes....and i feel this is unfair.

I am unable to attend the wedding, and I feel really bad, I don't want to hurt her feelings, but we just can't afford to make the trip.

I am a step mother to 3 children. boy 10, girl 13, and girl 15. I have been married to their father for 2 years. Our relationship is very unstable due to his controlling nature. I see his children acting in the same manner. When I come home it is "where have you been?" not hey how are you? how was your day? or they will continue calling my cell until I answer....rather then leave a msg....which is just like their father. The middle step - daughter was looking in my car for the garage door opener when she came across an eyeglasses case hidden with some very personal items in it. She was told the garage door opener was in the driver door pocket. but she went through my entire car. She called her dad and said she had discovered the items in the case and was shocked. He called me and said I had some explaining to do to his daughter.I am confused.I feel he should have covered me and that should be the end of it. His daughter even left me a note in the case "what the heck is this"

...sometimes like wildfire, leaving nothing left to burn. Why is it so hard (or frequently impossible) to take a backwards step to settle into a stage of relationship that is more stable and comfortable?

Well, my mother lives just a few minutes away from me now. She and I have definitely gotten a little closer since I've become pregnant. However, she suffered some financial hardtimes throughout my childhood and as a result, resorted to drinking, gambling, and stealing the identity of her three kids (myself included, which im still struggling to build back from since I refuse to sue my own mother). I obviously had a lot of anger toward her, but I'm trying to grow up and understand where she ever could've been coming from. She also hasn't spoken to her own mother, who lives down in Florida in years for what reason I still don't know. She lost touch with her own family, over financial matters I believe. She has made a lot of mistakes and driven most of the people in her life away. I feel like this is a cycle of bad relationships between mother and daughter on her side of the family and I'm terrified that my relationship with my new daughter will be cursed.

Should I worry...?

"I miss you" was all it said. I wasn't trying to get back together, I was just how I felt. Was that a mistake? Is it foolish to try to be 'just friends' after all we went through together?

I had a boyfriend a while back and he was soooo sweet! But that was only when we were alone. If me and him were going some place and we ran into my friends or any of his he would always brush me a side and act like a Jack ***

stituation with a private land lord who won't pay for anything, AC unit keeps breaking, we redid the floors and walls ourselfs b'cause they were molded, anything you can think of we eat the cost. After living on my own for over 5 yrs, I'm married with an 8 month old daughter, my older sis wants me to move in with her so we can finally save up money for a house. I love my sis and we get along great and I want it to stay that way! Is this really a good idea?

Every time we saved up the least bit of money, something goes wrong and POOF, its gone.

I work during the day, take care of my daughter after work, (part time personal asst.) and go to med. school @ night. My husbands works up to 12 hour days and takes care of the baby @ night. Am I only putting us in a more stressful situation by moving in with my sis and bro in law?

I'm going nucking futs! Help please?!?!?

my fiance says he doesnt like the "skinny dresses" and my dress is skinny. He does like lacey dresses though, and my dress is lacey. here is a picture:
http://davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=1889&prodgroup=123

should I be worried, or what should I do? I love it, and was told by complete strangers (trying on other dresses) at the bridal shoppe that it was perfect on me, but I dont want to see the disapointment on my fiances face when I walk down the isle, I want him to love it. I know its just a dress, but still.

THC (pot) behind my bf's back -once in a while- without him knowing???? Does that make me a bad person. He hates it and would never understand....even if I just hit it once! ( I used to smoke a lot) I quit when we started dating for him..... But I don't see why once in a while would hurt, but he does! So would that be a very bad girlfriend of me??? Does he *have* to know every single thing?!!!

My husband and his brother went out a few nights ago. They went to a bar for an hour or two. My husband called me from there about an hour after they had left. One hour later, my husband was home. He said that his is brother told him to go home and be with his wife and baby.

A few hours later, more like 3am, we got a phone call from my hubby's brothers wife. She said that she had went to this bar with two freinds of hers, saw her husband smooching on some chick. She accused my husband of not watching his brother (who is older) and not staying with him longer to make sure he behaved himself. My husband is not my brothers keeper. She now wants my husband to talk to his brother and find out why he did this and is he seeing this woman. I understand she would like some help. She pretty much demanded him to do this. I feel she is asking my husband to take responsiblity. Its so stupid!

What should my husband do? What in the he1l is wrong with his brothers wife, demanding HE is at fault for her cheating husband?
