I have reached a point in my life where i want to let my older sister know that i cross dress , any idea how i could bring this up i think she will be ok with it but not sure how to tell her, i thought about texting her but it seems a bit inpersonal, any ideas or experiances welcome

Send her a photo of yourself. Email it to her with a brief explaination. that will give her the time to get over the shock and not say anything she may regret once she calms down. She loves you and it sounds like you have a close relationship so should will probably be ok with it soon.

Years ago I told my older sister that I never wore any underwear. She was shocked but got over the shock and now thinks its a joke. {It isn't I still never wear any}. I then told everyone I knew and they now all joke about it whenever underwear is mentioned. I don't mind and I laugh as well. Tell your sister. She might be shocked to start with but if she cares anything for you she will accept that this is part of you and thats it. Try going out some where together just the two of you. Have a few drinks. Then say something like -by the way I'm a cross dresser- in a casual tone as if you were talking about the weather or something. She'll probably wonder only why you haven't told her before!

If it is possible to be together in a relaxed way and say, watch a film on tv or get a video where this subject is likely to occur in a light hearted setup, and gauge her opinion on the subject. Then during the course of discussion tell her that you have had desires to do this too. If she objects to the whole subject, it may not be the right time to share with her. You may need to take it one step at a time until she is more comfortable. Some people want to know why? a person does this, do you have this answer ready? She may worry how it will affect other members of the family or her circle of friends. What you do, she may feel affects her too, so do be ready with kindly answers and reassure her, you are just being you and want to express confidentially who you feel you are. God bless.

Can't believe you even THOUGHT about texting something like that!
Before you tell your sister, you should think very carefully about why you want to tell her. eg will she ever see you dressed like that or do you only do it during sex, in which case maybe you don't need to tell her because that should be a private thing. But if you want to dress like that the whole time she will have to know. Just don't let her be the last to know if you are going 'public' with it, that would be pretty hurtful.

Gage her feelings on the topic with a question. When there's a movie, TV program, or any article on the subject, ask your sister, "why do you think some guys crossdress?" If her answer is unsympathetic then drop the subject. If her answer is ambiguous then ask another question, "do you think they are bad people, weirdos or just expressing a need?"

You should maybe concider taking her on a chat show such as channel 5 TRISHA show, at least then there are councilors available for both of you and you would be coming out to the world at the one time

Why not take some photos of yourself and then show the pictures to her, explaining that it is something you have done for x amount of years etc.
If I were your sister I would be shocked but would get over it eventually and realise you would still be the person that I loved.

ask her to come round get a bottle of something and just be honest with her let her know how hard it is for you to do this we had a guy at work and the girls use to say u wear eye liner he say o dont be stupid he sat directly infront of me and i just use to smile we had a lugh now and again and one day he emailed me and said there right i do wear it my girlfriend know on a weekend im rachel and you know what he felt tuns better once it was out we use to mail each other every day and its not the end of the world loads of people do it gay straight its what makes you who you are you'll be fine go for it she may help with girly things xxxx

If you need to tell her just do it. If you don't need why bother it is not really her business. I was in my 50's when I told my sister and only then because she asked how I was able to write advice scripts for transvestites and I said because I am one.

Take her out for a coffee and give her a letter saying, "Id like you to read this. I feel that I can trust you"
Go to the loo or somewhere to give her chance tpo read and digest your secret.
