My mother in law is staying in our house because she is taking care of our 3 month old daughter, she would ussually stay all week and go back to Mexico on friday afternoon, and come back sunday night, but two months ago she lost her green card and she is in the process of getting it back, so for the past 2 months she's been with us all week and on weekends, and it's starting to get to me, every time we go out she has to come with us, and if we dont take her she has a smart remark, about us never taking her with us, and that she gets bored to. this weekend we went to the movies because our oldest daughter wanted to go, my husband invited her, and she said NO i dont like going to the movies, you guys are going to the movies because you know i dont like to go, that way you dont have to take me. It's starting to cause problems between me and my husband. Am i wrong?? Help please

I just love beating her at scrabble. She doesn't know about the scrabble squares I hide up my sleeve. She always wonders how I have just the right letter for that triple word score.

I am very interested to hear from people who are married or in a permanent relationship who have needed the relationship to continue even when the spouse tells you he/she is no longer in love with you and/or who cheats on you time after time. What makes you do it? Why do you want someone who doesnt want you? Does marriage/long term relationships make you lose your pride? Have you lost the need to be loved? Or do you think marriage is viewed as ownership, and its not so much the fact that your spouse does not love you anymore...but more the fact that you would be losing your possession? The more questions I see on here, the more I am wondering where has the need to be loved gone?

that makes you feel so bad inside. I've been with my man for almost a year now and I am so in love with him. I wish he understood how much I love him and want him for the rest of my life. We argue a lot. Mostly about insecurity things on my part. I don't want to get hurt! I hate when he walks away from me. That is the worst feeling. It's like the more he ignores me, the louder I become when trying to talk to him, leading us into a huge argument, and it's usually something stupid. He asked me this morning when this arguing is going end....I want it to end. I need to be stronger and more confident. I'm so afraid though. It's like I need his reassurance all the time....When will that time come when I won't question his feelings or motives in our relationship?????

SoI have no idea what to do? I'm trying to figure it out cause I have a wedding to plan..or not. HELP!

My husband wanted me to meet one of the women he had been drinking with during his guytime. I didn't know he'd been drinking with women at his friends home. I told him I did plan on seeing other women on our date. Wanting me to meet her? Was that just an excuse to see her again? I told him he couldn't see any other women, because being married, I don't see or drink with men.

I just found out that someone close to me has been cheating on his wife. They have been married for over 20 years - have 4 kids together, the youngest only 10. The wife is a housewife, stays home and takes care of the kids. She doesn't work and doesn't have the necessary experience or credentials to get a job besides waitressing or cashier work. She also has high blood pressure and other health issues. Should I confront the cheater? Should I tell her that her husband has been cheating? Do I leave things be and let them go on as is? He has been a good dad to the kids even though he's cheating and he's still supporting the entire family. She is completely ignorant of the situation and just thinks that he has to travel a lot for work. If I was in her shoes, I would want to know, but given her health, I'm not sure how well her body can handle the shock. I am also hesitant about confronting him because I am afraid of his reaction. What should I do?

I have had a long term relationship with my boyfriend for the past 10 years or so first starting with friendship and then love. We stay with our parents as we are from India. We plan to have out first night only after our wedding. I am a bit scared now and now that the time is looming up and the days are going fast, I am having jitters about how things will happen and how it will turn out to be. The marriage, the life of adjusting, will I always be happy, having kids and managing things as a caring wife.... I am so scared !!!

This isn't my mom's fault. Her sister has always picked fights with her. Her sister got meaner and nastier when she got sick, before she died. Hoping to find a poem or something to help her find comfort...help her forget the harsh words that were spoken.

what does it mean when a really good friend of urs pinches u,hits u,plays with ur hair, randomly hugs u and sometimes even slaps ur ***. because my guy friend is like that with me and has been ever since we meet which was about 7 months ago and we been really good friends since. he told me that he thinks im hot but he knows i dont see him that way and he is happy to be friends. but as time went on we become closer even had the nights when we had to share a bed(coz we were staying at a mates after a night out) and the drinks took over us and we ended up kissing and cuddling and if i didnt stop it it would have led to sex. but the next day we just sed we were drunk and that we are just friends end off. it was a bit weird but we soon got back to normal. but i think....i feel more for him then a friend now..but i dont know if he likes me: he does flirt with me,he doesnt like it when i ignore him he gets all hot and bothered about it. does he like me????

My best friend of 8 years was in my wedding back in 2000. She is finally engaged and I was shocked when I found out I wasn't in the wedding. That hurt my feelings but what upsets me more is her fiancee's two sisters are in it and doing NOTHING. One lives across the country and the other is 4hrs away. The bide's sister is the maid of honor and has been coming to me for everything. The shower is at my Dad's house, I'm making food, getting the wine, and helping with lists. I have a hard time not having an attitude when I'm doing all this work and I'm not even in the wedding. I want to do nice things for my friend but it's hard when the bridesmaids that were chosen are doing nothing. To add insult to injury, my friend never explained to me why she didn't ask me. How do I make myself happy for her and contribute to the wedding?

My boyfriend and I are moving to the next level of our relationship and I am a littel aprehensive because everytime we make plans, he breaks them. The excuse is either he has been called into work or that something with his sister (always his sister) came up. For example we made plans 2 Saturdays in a row and the first time he was putting an entertainment center in for his sister and she showed up late and he still did it and broke our plans, and the second Saturday he stayed outof town with his dad who had a surprise bbq just for the heck of it. He didn't seem to care until I told him that I was not going to take this anymore then there was remorse. Am I justified for prolonging my answer to his engagement?

I am a college freshman, and I have a major crush on this classmate. I think she is a total package. She has the prettiest eyes i've ever seen, she is very intelligent, and she is pretty nice. I never felt attracted to a girl this strongly, but I sense that she is not that into me. I think she somehow knows that I like her. Oh well. Lately I have been trying quite hard to get over her. I try to keep myself busy, but I have to admit that I keep thinking of her. It is so unfortunate. I don't think I am an undatable guy. I am not sure if I'm handsome, but I am ripped (not bragging or being narcisstic but it's true). I am 5'11 and weigh 180, so appearancewise I think I'm alright. I work hard and treat ladies nicely. I am not that great of a talker, so I guess that is my most critical weakness. Oh well. Some friends of mine tell me that I should be persistent to win her heart, but I don't see that coming anytime soon. Cant find someone else as of now. I need some useful advice. Thanks.

Im going out on our first date with this real attractive man tomorrow. Ok its been a long time since Im gone out on a date. The reason why Im asking this question is perhaps Im a little nervous. Im decent looking woman but I do come across as a very serious and intimidating person.
Only my close friends know that im actually a very shy and a quiet person, basically I take my own time to open up to someone. I also get bored real soon. Which is one bad habit i would love to change.I just wanna go out with this guy and have a pleasant evening being my usual self.. I don't want to scare him away. Just a normal friendly conversation with out getting too personal..

So what are the Do's and Dont's on a first date?

I had a very horrible childhood and I keep repeating old familiar patterns of isolation and sabotaging relationships.

My longest relationship has been maybe one month long. I always do something horrible to make the other person not want me anymore (sabotage the relationship).

I don't want to be alone anymore, but am terrified of relationships. I just started therapy. I want input though.

How do I break the pattern of pushing men away. I just started dating this guy last week and he is really nice. I am already thinking of ways to sabotage. I almost sent him an email last night stating that we should just be friends and not date again (which is not how I truly feel). But I am scared and fearful.

I don't want to be alone my whole life, but these old patterns and old tapes play in my head and they are very hard to break.

What can I do????????????
