I went on a history/architectural/nature tour of our local cemetary, which was very interesting. We were told that the last surviving member of this family, an old lady - very wealthy old money - put in her will that upon her death, all her beautiful Kittenger furniture was to be placed in the crypt with her and it was to be filled in with cement so that no one else would get her furniture. The groundskeepers said they stood there and heard all this beautiful furniture breaking as the cement filled in the crypt, which was under the monument, along with her and her relatives. I thought this very selfish as the furniture could have been sold and given to charity or actualy used by people who could use it. I wonder what she did with her house and the rest of her estate? Who said you cannot take it with you?

there was this girl at my school who i had a massive crush on. I wanted to ask her out but always backed out at the last moment.

i had left that school 4 years ago, and moved to another one.
last week, i was at a coffee shop where i met her again, but being painfully shy, i did not get her number or anything.

I've been missing a girl for 11 months. I hadn't been bugging her since she didn't want to talk to me anymore. We said hi occasionally, I thought things would be cool between us. I tried to talk to her. I said Hey how are you? She said nothing. I tried to talk about how she was helping with something (she was inactive at the moment). Still nothing. I told her I know we haven't talked in the longest time (I liked her, then fell in love with her, but she never liked me back), but I only wanted us to be FRIENDS again. I couldn't bring myself to say I missed her because it seemed like she wasn't hearing me. She kept her back turned towards me, unlike when I saw her sneak so many glances at me this past year. She texted on her phone. She never even looked at me, never said a word. I wanted to say what I felt about her, but all my feelings about her besides "I love you" wouldn't come up. I wanted to say I love you. I just said "ok, I get the point, you don't have to say anything else.

Translation, why arent people trying to work out their marital problems?

It seems that people automatically assume they are going to get no where fast, so they try to delay it untill it blows up and causes a chain reaction creating the eventual divorce.

I've known this guy for maybe 2 weeks now. He never told me he has a gf, he never even mentioned her and I thought he was into me. He noticed me first, he introduced himself to me first.He once waited for me for 3 hours just to help me solve some homework - and he was ill that day,he came to school only because of me. We have lots in common and talk a lot and I slowly fall for him. Once I asked him if he's going to the school prom (I didn't ask him to go with me) and he said yes but then changed to another subject. We chat a lot and everytime it's few hours in a row. We were chatting this time and he said he was going to the prom with his gf. I was shocked. And I joked about him telling me I'm beautiful and he said really?Did I say that?Plz dont tell my gf I said that. I'm really angry now. Was I just having imaginations about him being into me or was he hoping he'd two-timing his gf?!! He acts like nothing's wrong.He even asked me if I'd like to travel with him. What the hell??!!

embarrassing question, no matter how much practice doing it and read how to do it with my wife she hates it. Is it that im terrible or its possible that she just really doesnt like it. I have a friend, her name is Lauren and she can so every thing I can do, but better. And just to make this clear, I am honestly not jealous of her. She was recently in play. Our school play. She was Sandy in Grease. And the guy she likes is brothers with the guy I like and I think the guy I like likes her! I dont know what to do! Suggestions? Also everyone compares me to her! I wasn't going to the school when the auditions went on, so I got stuck with backstage. And backstage is important right? Not to her. There`s a guy who i quite liked and we were texting and calling and then hw went quiet on me,said he`d call me last saturday and didn`t.Anyway i saw him in his work last night and we didn`t really speak,i then saw him in the pub later on and while i was up at the bar he came up and said hello,i replied then he asked if he could call me later,i just said whatever in a friendly way and he then said no in fact can i call you during the week as i`m going somewhere and again i replied whatever and just laughed,and he asked if i`d not ignore him this time and he then went on about his phone being broke and showed me his new phone and then took my picture,that was about it and then i saw him swapping numbers with some other girl,lol,i just had to laugh!!

When he was leaving my friend jokingly shouted hey you when you gonna take her out on a date and he replied soon!!

Is this guy just plain stupid and weird or what?

I have thought some more, and I need to say no to your offer of continued communication because it shows no respect for me.
I do not care about your level of committment; I only cared that there was some reciprocity, friendship, or feeling in your offer. My agenda wasn't necessarily getting back together with you, but just talking, but if I am not at all important to you, and you do not on some level like, respect, and appreciate me, than this is a waste of my time and you are making me a worthless offer. If the email you wrote is the result of a conversation which hurt or scared you, you would need to tell me, but I am not going to be placed in a position of proving myself when I am not being offered any footing that is secure for me, because I can only lose. when it comes to dealing with your family. My sisters are so selfish and I have had it. I asked my sister to fly out and visit all expenses paid, and she still finds excuses not to come. Wow so I hung out w/my guy best friend who's my bestest friend ever...of all time and he told me that when we were in 7th grade...he had a crush on me (nothing unusual. It happens to every guy/girl best friends) and I admitted to him that in 8th grade I had a crush on him but neither of us ever did anything cuz we're bestest friends & he would have a girlfriend, I would have a boyfriend...the usual right?! Right. So anywho, this weekend we hung out and I think he wants to pursue something. I think he still likes me. He didn't tell me but I just feel it...you know when you get that feeling. We acted the same but there was something different. He tried to kiss me w/out trying. It was weird. Now my issue...I don't know if I like him too. I don't know whether I should pursue anything or not. I don't know if I should bring it up cuz what if he doesn't like me & it was all in my head (WHich I truly doubt!). He's the one guy I never thought this happen with. I love him...like my brother. HELP

I can't talk to my friends on the phone in peace, mind u he knows exactly who I'm talking too, and about what. If my phone rings I don't care if he answers it, because I have nothing to hide, but if his rings he don't want me to answer it, BUT I WILL. He calls his ex-girlfriends in another state at least 2-3 times a week (he thinks i don't know) and he pretends he's on the phone with one of his guy friends, but I can tell who he's talking too. (men aren't that smart), He tells them some of our business(i know that too), but when I mention the above to him of course he denies it and gets an attitude and try to turn it around and put it on me like most men do when cornered. I'm so tired of him I don't know what to do. He loves to find something to argue about all the time; just little petty stuff that is absolutely silly. why u move this.? why don't u do that? why did u do this? i told you not to?...
