I am about to break up with my boyfriend and wanted to know how he feels about that and where I stand in his life. He has three kids but thats not the problem. I feel like the ex still has a hold on him because of the kids and all he says is "I'm with you. Where am I going? " I know he doesn't want marriage. I do. Three years we've been together and I can't leave him. Everything is great 99% of the time. Only when she pulls him away like for christmas eve. Or like when he called her my wife in front of my friends @ a christmas party. I feel deeply hurt and wonder is it worth me sticking around for more.

I'm physically fit, well-read, and well-educated. Yet, I cannot seem to get women interested in me. I'm shy and awkward around women, have been since I was in my teens(I'm 30 now). I was always the nerdy one in class, or in any social setting. I'm always thinking that whatever girl I'm interested in won't be interested in me, or she'll laugh right in my face.
Basically, as you can see, I'm a mess. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome my shyness?

A girl I have been romantically involved in just told me she wants it over. We have been together for about 3 weeks. A short time I know but I absolutely fell in love with her. We were even intimate. I would spend a lot of time at her place, even slept over a few times. She seemed to feel the same way. But the day after Xmas is the last time I saw her. She didn't answer my calls or messages and finally 3 days later when she did is when I got what I got. She said I was the best thing that ever happened to her. Calling me babe. Always hugging and kissing me. I got advice from friends to just move on because it wasn't a long relationship but I feel cheated. I feel she didn't give it a chance. She claims it was going too fast and she felt suffocated. She was perfect for me and I feel devastated. She won't even talk to me. This was told to me in an IM. Any advice out there?

i saw this guy and wanna make friends with him by passing him a note with my number on it but there are too..far too many what ifs going around in my head..like what if he refuses to take that note from me? what if he's not going to get back to me? my sis and her husband are the only ones who knows this..and if that guy choose not to get back to me..i'm gonna be so embarrassed and my sis and her husband will say things like "i told u so..you're losing your face now" or maybe something like "you're a girl! you don't have to stoop so low when there are other guys out there!" what am i gonna do? i'm so curious about that guy and i really wanna be his friend..my friends are supportive but my sis ain't..she doesn't encourage me to do so..

My boyfriend and I had a perfect relationship until he got involved in drugs, he got paranoid and thought I was cheating, I did everything to help and prove that I’m not cheating, he stopped the drugs, but still didn’t trust me, I was the perfect girlfriend. But then after all I did for him he dumped me, because he thought I’m still lying. Now he doesn’t want to talk to me, and it kills me, I can’t get over the fact that things ended this way, what do I do?

Here's the context: A guy I know called me the other day & said that we should hang out sometime this week. It was only going to be the two of us.

He said he knew a Chinese restaurant that had a discount on Thursdays, so that's when we should go. I thought it was a lousy Chinese take-out, but no: it was a huge, sprawling fancy Chinese restaurant, the fanciest I'd ever seen.

After we ate, he paid for both of us with his credit card. Then we went to his apartment where we watched a movie on his laptop. Since he lives on the top floor, he also took me to the roof where we saw an enormous paroma of all the surroundings at sunset.

Afterwards, we went bowling, & then he suggested next a karaoke place, but I said I had to go home. Throughout this entire time, there was no kissing/sex whatsoever. He also once said that a relationship between us would be inappropriate, because he's 19 and I'm 17. So I'm confused: was this a date or not? And also, how do you define a "date"?
