i already have my dress, dj, and rings picked out, and all of that will cost me about $1500...
im planning on having an outdoor 'backyard wedding'... how much much more do you think that i will have to spend? on the minister, and... reception? how much do caterers usually charge for about 100 or less people?

The cost of caterers and things like that usually depend on the area you live. To keep costs down, do as much stuff on your own as you can, like making decorations, etc. or if you have friends or family who have certain skills, put them to work. This will cut down on the cost and make it more special and personalized. good luck!

Well - your doing good so far!

If you are having an outdoor wedding it is best to have a plan B. Lucky thing for you, the outdoors are decoration enough! But, I could rain. That means you should rent tents. Thats starts at $95 to $345. You can also get chairs at most rental places they are a bit more expensive then you would think. Around $5 a chair. If you can get chairs and tables from family and friends you are saving a lot of money.

You can save money on caterers by not having them! Try having a cocktail reception. Be sure to include this on the invitation... "cocktails to follow".... so the guests know to not expect dinner. Serve finger foods or set up stations. Ministers are generally free.

Are you giving favors? You can save bucko bucks by making them yourself. Try bags of candy. Include candy the colors of your wedding.

Hope I helped!

The minister will be roughly 75 to 100 dollars. The reception depends on where you plan to have it. If you are having an outdoor wedding have the reception out there. You can ask your local church for some tables and chairs. Do your own decorating. And as far as a dance floor you can set up some plywood on the ground be sure it is level. And as far as caterers concern it varies as to what you want to serve. When i got married my husband to be bought about six briskets and cooked them before the wedding. Me and my mom and sisters did potato salad, pinto beans, fixings and tea. Some friends of mom helped serve. Everything was great we had about 90 people. Hope this helps lots of luck. If you can find a church hall they may let you use it for very little money. God bless.

The best way to keep cost down on a wedding is to ask family and close friends to fix something. Don't ask for much, just a little something that people can afford. Someone may want to donate some chicken. Another may wish to BBQ the chicken. While still another may wish to clean up afterwards. All of the foregoing is money that you do not have to spend. It adds up!

I did the same type of thing. My girlfriends made my wedding special by sending out invites to our other friends and we had kind of a potluck thing. It was very casual and presents were not expected. (that was written on the invitation). We rented from a friend a sound system and a friend to run it. With a special dance for me a my husband.. you can get flowers from a discount florist and make them your self and the table clothes can be on the serving table with people eating in their chairs. Just remember that people of family and close friends will help you even if you are both married for the second or so time. Best wishes to you!

The reception is what you make of it.
You can make your own decorations. Just go to a store like "michaels" or any craft store and you will find easy beautiful things to make for centerpieces and such.
You can have your family and friends make dishes for everyone at the wedding instead of hiring a cater to do it.
I paid over 800.00 for a business to cater my wedding and it was only like 65 people.

caterers, I'd average on $20-$25 per person depending on what you are having.

you could cut a lot of costs by making your own decorations.

I suggest visiting online website such as

http://www.weddinglenox.com ,weddingvendors.com ,onewed.com

Unlike most yellow pages, they have price comparison for vendors (DJ,videographer, florist, and photographer) you can choose.

One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.

I like weddinglenox as they have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page, plus you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

You need to do the research yourself. Which means hours on the tele. Weddings ain't easy.
