This is a classic example of Acculturization, A muslim in India where there is a larger proportion of Hindus, is capable of marrying his niece. Let me tell you more, According to Islam he is technically incorrect, but living among the hindus, the tendency to marry like this is common, In South Indians this is a common practice, We are all discussing this here, but the couple is surely feeling ok because the marriage is acceptable, according to the local community. Muslims accept a lot of hindu practices, because of acculturization. Scientifically this may not be healthy for the off springs.

I am not sure what the law of marriage in Islam says about this. But a girl marrying her maternal Uncle is not uncommon among some communities of the Hindus in South India. This practice must have started to keep the property within the family or other social reasons. This is not considered as incest, neither there is any legal bar against this. However now a days this kind of marriage is discouraged due to medical reasons.

What is your problem? Is it worrying you or has he/his wife/sister/family member has enquired about it? I am sure if this was unacceptable according to Islamic law of marriage, maulvi would have refused to accept the marriage and so would have the community and his society. Don't try to intrude until it has been asked for because that may ruin many people's lives. It is already too late to ponder over the worthiness of the situation.

Incest is risky for the offspring while the relationship is so close as a sister. there is adequate genetic variance between cousins to make this far much less a controversy, besides the undeniable fact that that's greater effective to mate with human beings from diverse families. I additionally rigidity that psychological injury could be accomplished to different relatives who may well be rather uncomfortable on the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

YES it is forbidden for a Muslim man to marry his niece, she is like a daughter to him. this is unacceptable violation of Islamic rulings. it is mentioned in the Quran the women, whom a Muslim man is forbidden to marry, among them is his brother's or sister's daughter. this act is unbelievable ,how come he is a Muslim and sooo ignorant of Islamic rulings , as afriend u have to advice him not to continue in this awful sin and frankly i don't know what to become of this poor helpless child!!! this is a complete mess. i think he also needs to consult a trustworthy religious figure for the right solution out of this disaster. i hope i was of some use

Religion aside, it's wrong morally. The relationship is too close. Look what happened to the British royalty many, many years ago. They married their first cousins, their sisters or brothers, and the children turned out with mental disease. It's incest...

relationally there is no barrier to marry sisters daugher. but technically speaking, there will be some genetical problems cover this relations bcos children born to such relations will have a good chance of getting improper genes which results in abnormal growth in child
