I have a guy friend that is totally in love with this girl that he took to prom last spring. When he took her to prom she spent the whole evening with another guy. He is still crazy about her and trys to spend as much time with her as he can. She is nice to him but isn't interested in him that way at all. If a guy treated me like that at the prom, my crush would be over immediately. And this is a guy that is really handsome and sweet. He could have any girl he wanted. I have another guy friend who is head over heels for a girl and she broke up with him and is now supposedly good friends with him but treats him like crap and he follows her around like a puppy dog saying that she is the love of his life. What is the matter with these guys?

This boy that likes me is in a different class than me. He is my best guy friends older brother. I have liked him for a long time, and i am a freshman, and he is a sophomore. When i see him in the halls, i get butterflys, and he kinda checks me out and half smiles. But when i leave him comments on his myspace, he hardly ever replies. I dont know what to do, i really really like him, but it hurts too. It is hard to know that sophomores rarely even look at freshman. What should I do?

essentially, i've ben with a girl for 6 months, and we're both free in a way. i go out with my freinds once a week and there no questions asked. i've never used it, but she also goes out with her freinds from college about once a month. i ask no questions what happens, so i don't know if she's ever used her freedom. for all i know, she hasn't - and the whole speculating whats happening can be fun.

we just have three rules: always use utmost protection, we communicate about concerns, and anything we do is jst a hook up. - nothing to get between us.

but i have a freind who insists girls are wired to get attached to whatever guy they hook up with. and he's busting my chops because my gf admits she's hooked up with 'hotties' for the hell of it at clubs before she was with me.

I guese i'm asking whether there are normal girls out there that would actualy see it as a good thing to have a guy to come home to but at the same time not giving up the freedom to have a little fun?

When my mom died I was devastated. I turned to my wife for support after two weeks of severe depression. She told me that in her culture, they take 3 days to grieve and then suck it up and move on.
No one was left for me to turn too and I had to drop out of school because I could not get adequate care for my son. Slowly, my self-esteem and my world view began to hit rock bottom.
In August of last year my mother-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Ever since she started chemo my life has been uprooted every 2 months or so. Her symptoms worsen and my wife spends most of her time there while my son and I do not see her and I am expected to miss work to make it easier for her to go see her mother and not have to worry about careing for our son.
Now her mom is close to dieing and my wife is devastated. But I feel that she has had almost a year to accept that her mom was dieing. She gave me three days. Should I tell her it is time to accept her mom's passing?

My exgirlfriend who I just broke up with doesn't want to lose me as a friend but she has this friend who told her he likes her and she said she's unsure of whether or not she likes him (she's liked him before and were childhood friends). I'm in G. 11 and I go to a high school in PA. Recently I got a tutor for science, and it's this girl (same age) who I have gotten a crush on. She's not a dork or anything. She's genuinely nice, and probably the first person I've ever really been interested in going out with. She's been my tutor since Sept. and I'm not sure how to go about asking her out, or becoming a friend.

After we finish going over the science stuff, we talk for a little while, but mainly just joke about school and stuff like that, just chit-chat. Although for chit-chat, it's pretty funny (for both of us).

I'm afraid to ask her out because given the way she acts towards me, I don't know what to expect. A lot of the time she gives off the impression she likes me somewhat, and then sometimes she's just really focused in on the work. If I ask her out I'm afraid she'll say no and the rest of the year will be very awkward. Do you know any way I can get a better idea what she thinks of me without being too forward?

i am very self concious about my looks and that's why i am so shy to go up to people because i constantly think they are looking at me. At 19, i have some pimples, skinnky, 6'3", and a broken nose. I think my nose is huge now and i cant get over it. My overall appearance is killing my social life. Is appearance the reason why i have never gone on a date?
