most of the time they do. but sometimes like they may just ask you cuz they just heard it around umm so maybe she does

If she did, she'd be more subtle. She just wants an ego boost. It's just human nature, and makes perfect sense if you think about it. It is clear that she does not. Either give her nothing, or try to create feelings by teasing her in a positive way, which can sometimes make you more interesting, but that's only if you want her, of course.
Anyway, I don't want to presume to much. But the answer is no. Not usually no, not maybe, just NO. Anyone who says different is ignorant of easy psychology, and does not have the success with women I do, which keeps guys like me in business. I salute those guys! (and girls always have ulterior motives. Don't trust them on this question!!!)

Not always. Girls work funny. Most girls I know would not go up to a guy and ask if he likes her (I would, but I'm not normal). She could be asking for a friend. But she could be askig for herself. ASK HER!!!

could be. depends on how old you are. that seems like a juvenile way of saying that yeah...or maybe she is being childish and trying to hurt you with your own answer...i'd feel it out before you answer. or simply ask "why?" before you answer and refuse to answer till you know why she's asking.

NO definately not!! usually they just want to make themselves feel better-they want to know that someone likes them! There was this one guy though who asked me if i liked him and i said yes and then he flirted with me more but he said that he didn't like me!

Man, she want to see if you are pussywhiped by her. The correct and manly way to do it is to tell her NO because I seen "better". You could also tell her that you like her sister or best friend.
