Just out of curiosity....

Also, a little fun FACT: Only 4% of carbons created is caused by humans, that includes use of vehicles, electricity, breathing, and yes even omitting natural gases from your behind. Of that 4%, only 25% is being produced from the United States. Which means that we in the US only create 1% of the carbons which are claimed to be increasing the effect of global warming. How can we slow a natural process when the human contribution is so low? I would like to underline the natural process part of the previous sentence. Chew on that for a while...

My ecology professor put this question up to us and I'm not exactly sure what the answer is. I was thinking that it would be humans in general or possibly gloabal warming, but that would be caused by humans. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you agree with it or not? I, personally, think it's a bunch of bologna, but I'm curious to know what Yahoo! users think.

Remember "SWAMP-GAS"?
Methane is produced by rotting vegetation and wet-lands are probably the greatest source. It certainly exceeds the volume produce by cows. Even grass allowed to rot on the ground instead of being eaten will produce methane.
It is pumped out of gas wells to be piped to our homes for energy, to power plants to produce electricity, etc.: but those sources are burned and produce carbon dioxide and water.
Atmospheric methane, relative to its quantity, has a far greater effect on global warming than CO2.
What is an appropriate perspective for evaluating the reality of this situation?
