Where can I get some details about Gene Banks ?
I have been given this project on Gene Banks but I cannot get good material on it on the Internet. What I get is all specific to some particular gene bank but I need to prepare 20 pages on it:
Gene Banks, its importance, the work they do, their importance, how they preserve genes of animals & plants and any substantial results like bringing some extinct species back to life.

The perfect site for material you need is listed here:
http://www.ifpri.org/pubs/rag/br1003/br1003.pdf

It has analytical info as well as farmer crop biodiversity.

Also at the below sites, you'll learn about sustainable development, and the importance of gene banks as repositories.

What about universities and private companies who own the rights to modified animal genes? Texas A&M does much reseach in this area. Remember Dolly she came from there! Maybe you could interview a grad student.
