Is the the durability of the planet earth proportional to the wimpiness of humans?

Why do the most hypersensitive people view the planet as so fragile when its survived billions of years. We've detonated hundreds of test nukes and its still here. Life can survive in some of the harshest environments like near in the ocean near lava.

I agree. I do not understand people who think that if we all drive hybrid cars we will actually be able to make a difference. The Earth is must less sensitive then the environmental crowd would lead you to believe.
