Al Gore was reared by his elite wealthy Southern Father to be a world class politician.

This is why he went to Vietnam - because Dad realized that soldiers get elected to office easier - but Dad sent him over there as a journalist and not a front line guy (or a pilot like John McCain).

Because his Dad was a Senator, Al was able to get into the best schools in the country and lived the life of luxury in the hotel suite near DC.

Unfortunately for Al, he never learned to appreciate the value of earning anything for himself. Because everything was given to him, he did not learn to appreciate the value of hard work. A lifetime of liberalism warped his sense of value.

This is why he is a member of the "Do as I say, but not as I do" club. He advocates stopping Global Warming (which is needing more research to determine if it is naturally occuring, a result of industrial discharge or both- Mr. Gore seems to think that mankind is powerful enough to be the sole cause of Global Warming), yet he lives in a mansion that consumes 20x the annual energy of the average American.

Mr. Gore invests in Mining companies, Oil Companies, and Big tobacco yet calls them E - V - I - L. When he was facing a critical election, he attempted to have absentee military votes thrown out on legal technicalities while lobbying for "the intent" of the voter by evaluating chads, hanging chads and dimples on ballots (go figure).
