One site that disputes the general wisdom is this one:

It is kind of funny--the one site I find disputing the facts appears to be some sort of fossil fuel service industry located deep in the coal mining hills of West Virginia.

Volcanoes do emit some carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. They emit primarily water vapor, but also lots of sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen, and other gasses. There is essentially nothing we can do about the carbon dioxide emitted by volcanoes, other than to measure it. How many active volcanoes are there in the world, venting CO2 into our atmosphere?

It turns out man releases 150 times as much CO2 as all the earth's volcanoes combined.

The greenhouse gases you are talking about is from volcano's and methane deposits in the earths crust. Think about it people state that we cause the ice burgs and glaciers to melt well if they did not melt they would cover the whole earth, not saying pollution is good it stinks and makes it hard to see, but does not create global warming.
