1. Human activity does not affect the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.

2. The amount of greenhouse gasses does not affect the climate.

3. Climate change has never caused widespread crop failure.

4. Widespread crop failure does not affect civilizations

That's all it would take to make me rethink my position that global warming IS a real problem we need to address, so please cite references if you want to convert me to the side whose best argument so far seems to be "They think the sky is falling" and "well it was cold here last week".

So does the fact that more than 70 percent of the planet’s recent warming occurred before 1940, and thus before humans emitted much CO2. Ice cores and seabed sediments show the 1500-year cycle extending back 900,000 years, and carbon 14 isotopes say it’s linked to variations in the sun’s irradiance. A reduction in fossil fuel use might be a good strategy for the future, but apparently would have little impact on Earth’s climate. "The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane."

Producing green electricity from otherwise harmful greenhouse gas fuels is core to the ENER·G Group's renewable energy business - hence why the ENER·G Group is the UK's leading independent Landfill Gas Generation Company.

Landfill gas is a resource to be profitably harnessed and our unique modular approach enables local authorities and waste companies to maximise the methane gas resource available on Landfill sites by expertly matching capacity to the gas curve of the site.

ENER·G's flexible procurement options make our technology available without the need for capital outlay; offering our clients risk-free developments and income. Indeed because we then manage the extraction of gas from the site, we effectively take away a problem and provide a substantial risk-free income in return.

Additionally, our wide ranging expertise includes the generation of electricity from a range of alternative fuels including mines gas

While everyone's focus is on climate change, the question of reducing the human population is been forgotten. Some scientist say 5 B is sustainable in the short term (we are now past 6 B) but we need to fget it down to 3 B in the next 200 years. How could we do this without massive suffering?

Mostly I'm getting tired of it. Knowing quite a bit about science I have come to many conclusions about it. I am sure the earth has risen in temps by a couple degrees over a very very very short time in the history of the earth. I also know polar ice caps and glaciers are melting... I also know that many glaciers and ice caps are also thickening, significantly...

Now my point and what I want some opinions on.

Why do we not hear the other side? Much of it stinks of conspiracy things like in prison break and 24. Where rich but morally poor liberals and uneducated enviromentalists want some political power and using something which they really don't know anything about to their advantage. Firstly I would like the hard proof that we are all really gonna die... Then I want the hard proof that I have seen showing we all won't die. I want to see all the facts laid out so I can make an informed decision, especially with elections. Lastly, if we have caused so much damage there is no way we h

It seems logical. When you put ice in a glass and allow it to melt, the water level doesn't change.

If this is the truth, then what does this mean in regards to global warming?
