Yes: they should be washed between uses, though!

There is no scientific proof to shown that it's not safe to reuse plastic water bottles over & over again. But these plastic bottles are designed for use once, no one can sure there won't be any problem such as chemistry reaction if use it over and over again.

I've been doing it for years. I've had no problem whatsoever. I use em and wash em. Depending on the size of the opening, some of them I even put in the dishwasher. If they survive I reuse them. Some of them I wash out with bleach water. No biggie. Do it all the time. Never had a problem.

no its not safe to resuse the plastic bottled spring water bottles that u buy in supermarkets and service stations etc as they are designed for one off use and breakdown leaching the plastic into the water that u refil them with

If you wash it yes, but i dont suggest doing it. Why don't you just buy those reusable plastic water bottles?
