Mostly I'm getting tired of it. Knowing quite a bit about science I have come to many conclusions about it. I am sure the earth has risen in temps by a couple degrees over a very very very short time in the history of the earth. I also know polar ice caps and glaciers are melting... I also know that many glaciers and ice caps are also thickening, significantly...

Now my point and what I want some opinions on.

Why do we not hear the other side? Much of it stinks of conspiracy things like in prison break and 24. Where rich but morally poor liberals and uneducated enviromentalists want some political power and using something which they really don't know anything about to their advantage. Firstly I would like the hard proof that we are all really gonna die... Then I want the hard proof that I have seen showing we all won't die. I want to see all the facts laid out so I can make an informed decision, especially with elections. Lastly, if we have caused so much damage there is no way we h

there is no way we have any chance of fixing it. When you really think about it... If we have heated up 2 degrees and the ozone is gone down the pooper AND everything is melting, then there is nothing we can do except say thanks for all the fish...

My biggest complaint with all this political skewing of this topic (never any hard facts) is why is global warming George Bush's fault? Why is it republicans faults? It's a stupid idea to think in a 4 year term anything can be done about this impending doom...

Before you try for your 10 points I want to see the facts from both sides so I can make more informed decisions on the topics especially come election time.

A good rule to follow...when a "crisis" arrives...look out !...and be sure first there really is a crisis and not just something to fuel a hidden agenda. You are right to be suspicious if there really is a crisis.....it is pretty doubtful and certainly not at all like "they" are trying to promote.

One scientific expert says there are a lot of real facts that are just being ignored in the name of promoting "global warming". Much of what they are showing as being "caused" was happening long before the "cause" even existed.

So make the so called "experts" prove a crisis before you believe it to be true...and consider the source. Some of them are so off on other things, I would never accept them as an expert...know what I mean?

I also have another reason to question these experts....it is that God controls the universe....not people. Yes we could cause some damage....but God is still the One in control. Think I'll go with Him first....but earth "worshipers" want to believe they are the ones controlling everything. Not so

Hearing the "other side" is fine in a political argument. It's nonsense in science. We don't (or shouldn't) give equal time or equal respect to geocentrism, creationism, or flat earthers. In science, some ideas are just plain wrong, and it is a disservice to truth to pretend otherwise. Sadly, that doesn't prevent politicians from pretending otherwise anyway.

Global warming is not the Republican's fault. What IS their fault is:
* dropping out of Kyoto, which could have mitigated some of the effects.
* attempting to muzzle scientists and re-write their reports to minimize the problem.
* writing an energy policy in secret that favors big oil and ignores conservation -- which makes the problem worse.
* pretending there is a scientific debate on global warming when there is an undeniable scientific consensus.
* wasting six years on thumb-twiddling that could have been spent on positive action.
* buying into the "we can't do anything about it anyway" mantra.

No, we're not all gonna die from global warming. Crops may fail, ecosystems may be destroyed, economies may nosedive, there may be worldwide famine and poverty, there may be wars over dwindling resources, cities and small nations may drown, but we won't all die. That doesn't mean the problem isn't serious.

If you want facts, stop paying attention to the politics and start with the science. Here's the best place to start. It's the largest peer-reviewed study in the history of science. Read it.

The reason you don't hear "the other side" is that there isn't one. for more than a decade scientists spend their time working to find out what the facts are--and carefully refrained from jumping to conclusions. When the facts were in they announced the findings. The so-called "debate" and "other side" are not legitimate.

You say "you want the facts"--fine. They are out there--in lots of scientific reports that are readily available. So go look.

Andas for "not being able to fix it." Maybe you can't figure out a solution--but others can--and have. Just because you don't get it doesn't make it invalid. Again--you want facts, go look.

Well since you know quite a bit about science, you will also know that the earth magnetic field is weakening, so don't be so worried about global warming, but the fact that you will die of cancer by the increased ultra violet rays of the sun.
Also with the rise of tectonic activity, the likelihood of a major volcanic disaster is also to be considered.
So increased volcanic activity, spewing dust into the atmosphere, increase in ultra violet radiation, global warming raising sea levels, the sea warming, and as you will know warm water expands, the thawing of Siberia's permafrost, releasing thousands of tons of methane and carbon dioxide, to add to the greenhouse effect, which in turn warms the atmosphere even more.
AND YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN MIND UP....LOL

Well, with you knowing "quite a bit" I would suggest a little punctuation in some of those sentences. Further, I guess your "conclusions" have stopped you from actually reading the material this group of leading scientists, (from all over the globe) which actually doesn't say we are "gonna die". It shows global changes over time, not over a very short period.
My opinion is- read the report before you B@#$% about it! Use your scientific mind, to review reports, data, analysis, sampling, and all other pertinent info, and get back to us next year when your finally educated.

The other side of Global warming? that would be Cubical Cooling and we covered that at the last HR training class... If you missed it heres a quick refresher. thou shalt not date subordinates. thou shall sleep your way to the top if possible. last but not least. make sure you delete those personal emails before I.T. runs a diagonstic on your system.

just to point out, the ozone layer is not related to global warming.

the big problem is that even if places like the US, europe and australia reduce emissions, countries which are becoming more affluent such as india and china are going to be ramping up emissions.
i think that the technology is there, but it is not yet commercialised adn hence, not economically viable.
clean coal technologies can help in the short term, and i think that carbon capture technology will be important.

the reason you don't hear the other side, is because of the global war on terrorism, Exxon can't launder the money to them anymore,(without someone exposing them) to make false claims against global climate change!
