It seems to me that the rate of ecological imbalance can be possibly be reversed by granting voting rights to other eligible animals. A suitable technique would be needed to determine the prferences and the voting mechanism for this purposes. Can it be made possible?

I know everyone has heard about the environmental situation we are in before. It really is a dead horse at this point. To the point where people just don't seem to want to talk about it anymore. I very often witness people just shutting down, quickly changing the subject whenever the issue of human caused environmental disaster is even mentioned. Yeah, it's super depressing. We were ignorant for so long, completely unaware of how much our own progress would stress the Earth, and here we are now just scratching the surface of discovering how much damage we have caused.

Recently I overheard my 10 year old niece, talking about global warming, and how much it makes her angry. THAT hit me.
Gave me the creeps. It's like the worst low budget B movie that ends all wrong. In the end, the main characters didn't save the day, and there were no survivors, no one escaped.

I hope it doesn't come to that. That's all I can do though, is hope. So many people want to make a change, but feel helpless.

Alarmingly the USA is the largest net polluter on the planet but deforestation in less developed countries has a high impact as well. Don't care about this subject?? Then go to www.climatecrisis.org and look: You do care? Then also visit the site ... do you want to change the effects of global warming?

I have a few questions about power plants:

When and where was the last nuclear power plant built?

I know Bush was talking about building new power plants. But has he actually built any? If not, is there any plan to do so?

And with the new technology we have, what are the pros and cons (Besides waste byproduct, meltdown) of modern power plants?

How will it affect the economy and gas prices?

Yesterday, I heard an interview with our Prime Minister. He was asked about global warming, "Shouldn't Australia be doing more to cut CO2 emissions, since the fate of the Earth is at stake?" His answer was, "that would be against the short and medium term business interests of Australia." To me that was insane. What good are short and medium term interests if humans can't survive on Earth in 100 years? So, I'm asking everybody, What will you do now? I don't drive, and I've cut back on electricity use. What about you?

Does anybody else think that the real environmental problems are not vehicles and oil. What ever happened to save the trees. Aren't air conditioned houses a much bigger threat than vehicles.
