He has said the following in print mostly in the Daily Mail:

"the link between the burning of fossil fuels and global warming is a myth";

global warming is "a problem that actually doesn't exist";

and

"climate change is an entirely natural phenomenon, nothing to do with the burning of fossil fuels".

Can we ever know how much damage these articles and interviews have caused? He is quoted by Exxon executives to suggest that "if even an environmentalist like David Bellamy says global warming isn't happening, then it can't be true"?

The harm done to environmentalism by David Bellamy is incalculable. Yet he is Yahoo Featured Questioner today on saving the planet!

He lost it way back in the 80s. Too many Newts.

Take a person from 1006 to today and they would be lost. It is only in the last 500 years that things changed greatly.

Roads would be overgrown quite fast but how long would buildings last. Remember the old roman buildings did not so much fall down but were used as building material by others. Ankor Wat lasted some time in Cambodia. Wipe out the human race how long before the planet recovers?

The World Health Organization reversed a 30-year-old policy Friday and declared its support for indoor use of the pesticide DDT to control mosquitoes in regions where malaria is a major health problem.

The Geneva-based WHO, which provides advice to many developing countries, believes the benefits of the long-acting pesticide far outweigh any health or environmental risk it may pose. About 1 million people die each year of malaria, most of them African children younger than 5.

Go read all the articles on this, millions upon millions have died because of faulty science. Why should the Enviro's not have to pay for their mis-deed? What rights do they have in being the direct cause of slaughting these people, when there was a remendy and extermination of a disease as horrific as marlia? This makes me sick!

We live in an established non-HOA neighborhood, which is relatively quiet. Except for my neighbor who lives right across the street from our house. The problem is, this person loves to listen to his hillbilly rock at high volume in his garage with the overhead door wide open. Any suggestions on how to block the sound from echoing across the street and filling my house with his noise?

David Bellamy's question got me thinking: Is it cheaper to leave my computer on all day or keep turning it off after I've finished using it? I have an external drive, external modem and broadband so there are a few plugs involved here. Someone said, though, that to turn them on from scratch takes more energy than to just leave them on. Will someone who actually knows answer this, please? I think that turning it off would save energy but I really haven't a clue.

Help!

Although Landfil obviously isn't great for the earth, minimal energy is used to process the waste, hence using less energy. Some landfill sites also produce gas which can be harnessed to provide useful energy. Once full up, the sites are often grassed over and turned into nature reserves or parks (like Rainham landfill site east london)

Recycling is good if it stops new natural resources being used, but most recycled goods still need a certain percentage of new material. Then there is all the energy required to sort and process it to make it into something new. Even then the recycled goods can only be second grade due to all of the impurities in it which cant be removed (you cant make new cars from recycled steel)

What i'm trying to ask is that is it always a good idea to recycle without knowing what are the processes and where it ends up?
