The level of destruction that is sustainable should be the level at which the environment is able to recover. If we are above that level, "destruction" will increase. Destruction is not a very technical term, it is more of an emotional one.

Consider that scientists speculate that the earth's environment may have been destroyed many times causing extinction level events, but yet look at the life here now. The planet will survive and so will life, the question is will humans, and should they!

the Earth can repair its self. The level of destruction depends on our (humans) carrying capacity. The more population expands, the more land we will need to survive. If we ruin different ecosystems, l it will take a long time for these systems to regenerate. When they fully regenerate, we will be well past our carrying capacity.

Hi. No level is sustainable, only repairable. If we destroy faster than we repair then the destruction is permanent, or at least additive.

i think there is already too much environmental destruction...hopefully something happens soon...by the way I like the picture of Lord Shiva!
