The desertification process is rapidly taking place on earth, although the fact remains that the total quantity of water on earth is constant. However, there is no proper distribution or partitioning of water due to which plant and animal life suffers from either excess or deficiency of water.

Using green energy (wind, solar, hydro, etc) for power, is it possible to construct srubbers around the world to pull CO2 out of the atomsphere and put it back underground in abandoned wells in order to help lower this greenhouse gas?

I'm planning on finishing the bedroom renovations for a ten year old autistic kid who eats the plaster off the walls and smears his feces every night. We tore out the remaining 1/3 of the plaster and lath and installed 5/8 OSB then glued down 4x8 sheets of fiberglass to the walls. Before my five foster sons and I got home, the mom called to say that her son had ripped the fiberglass panels off the wall and tore them up. So we went back the next day and it was no more pretty walls, now it was bullet proof walls. The kid taught us our engineering was inadequate. So we cut more Fiberglas panels but this time, after we glued them in place, we screwed 3 inch molding to the top, 8 inch baseboard (painted white) to the bottom, THEN we installed inch and a half aluminum strips over the seams between panels. We also put beads of caulk under each strip and piece of wood to make them water and poop proof.
This weekend my sons and I are going to install a subdued light green vinyl floor over quarter inch under layment then caulk the seams and install quarter round trim on the floor. We are also going to build a low platform covered with vinyl flooring on top and fiberglass on the side as a bed frame to support the vinyl covered detention center grade mattress.
Anybody know of a good solution for cleaning human feces prior to installing the underlayment?
After work I will take the guys to a Taos gallery opening where we can get a root beer and a burger with grey poop on mustard.

The facts aren't all in yet, and besides, it goes against the American way of life, so obviously the entire scientific community is trying to pull a fast one. But we're too smart to be fooled, aren't we?

A virus perhaps.....

We breed at a huge rate, devour all the planet's natural resources and destroy it in the process

You know, if living conditions in the rest of the world improved, so there was no need for 10 kids per family and ppl in the East stopped breeding like there was no tomorrow, then maybe we will give the planet a chance of a future???

Sources mean the following: Coal; nuclear; wind; hydro; etc. Also helpful would be recent US gov't docs pertaining to these sources and the amount which the US used during a particular year, such as: Coal, 50%; nuclear, 10%; etc.

According to the Un iv. of Calif. at Santa Barbara & the scientific journal, "Global Bioglochemical Cycles",there's methane gas (20 times more potent than carbon dioxide) escaping from the small volcanoes in the ocean floor of the Santa Barbara channel, called Shane Seep, near an area known as the Coal Oil Point seep field. Its been going on for some time. All that gas escapes into the atmosphere. Maybe that's why Southern Calif. has had temperatures in the hundreds of degrees for two weeks now. What other causes of global warming that you know of that others might not know of?

I've got a 10 hp chipper/shredder thats makes quick work of lots of brush that I have to clear. I probably will go through quart of gas to chip the average size pile ( 300 lbs? ) that I used to burn. The mulch is reused.
I got it thinking I could reduce my CO2 footprint, but looking at the gasoline usage, I am not confident.
I also spread the ash into the soil.

Any ideas, guesses or sources of info?

People waste so much time recycling and I can't understand why. The only recyclable materials that are actually worth recycling, companies are actually willing to pay you for (aluminium & steel). The rest actually do the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish through recycling, it takes more energy & creates more pollution (the refining process) and costs an enormous amout of money (taxpayer money) and manpower to refine these products.
The 1st story that I read to address this issue stated that "Recycling may be the most wasteful activity in modern America” printed in the New York Times in 1996. America has no shortage of landfills, and the current landfill regulations are very environmentally friendly and are the most cost effective way of disposing of waste.
There is no shortage of trees available in the US the number of trees in our forest has actually increased in the last 50 years according to Jerry Taylor, director of natural resources at the Cato Institute.

global dimming is caused by soot getting into the clouds causing very thick clouds. they reflect off the sun light. it causes disturbance in wind and cyclonic patterns. it could threaten entire south east asia to droughts which depends on cyclones. as developed countries have increased using catalytic converters and making clean smoke from industries, this phenomenon which was reducing the acceleration of global warming is reducing. so global warming is accelerating and scientists understood that their current global models about the earth have under estimated the power of mehane(8 times more powerful than co2) and carbondioxide. and global temperature rise will double in 100 years. so it will increase by 10 degrees celcius. as sea temperature increases, co2 will bubble off, accelerating the problem. 10,000 tonnes of frozen methane in the north, on sea beds will bubble off further accelerating it. what can we do to stop it?
