Pfiesteria

http://www.cdc.gov/hab/pfiesteria/about.htm

(They say this killer algea comes from run off, mainly from Hog farms, the lagoons of waste get spillt into the rivers and in turn creates this new algea that is killing fish, apparently though it's now affecting the ocean fish too in the mid atlantic ... interesting..)

Treatment of polluted runoff and sewage is a huge problem in growing urban areas. A few places (Irvine Ranch Water Dist. in So. Calif, and a city that I can't remember the name of in Oregon) have employed a series of man-made ponds to reduce the pollutant load naturally. If someone could studies these efforts, plus others that I'm sure exist, and develop some guidelines and recommendations so that other communities could try it without having to start from scratch every time, it would be a tremendous benefit to the public and the environment. In others words, take it from an exotic solution to a practical application that others can follow.

Try talking to your advisor!!
Look at the theses that have been done under those on your committee and see if there were things that need to be followed up on and anything that the writers suggested needed to be investigated further.

Last suggestion, look at the agencies that are funding the work in your specialty area and see if there are things that they are looking at and willing to fund.

Roman Catholics do not enable their clergy to marry. some gay adult adult males may probably believe that they are able to apply the clergy as an damage out from the expectation to marry a lady. instead they get trapped in a cycle of homosexuality with youthful boys. different religions have clergy that could keep sexual relationships with a better half.

Ok, begin studying the native species on Hawaii that are contending with invasive species. Eventually, you'll get a job there and can and apply your expertise in the field.
Good luck!
