With all due respect to lees_sword, he really should follow the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do to you." In this particular case that would entail the old adage: "If you have nothing good to say then say nothing."

Diamond Freak :), there is a very good source of information on Haiti and the environmental issues you mention. The author is your namesake: Jerad Diamond. He has written a very interesting book that studies a number of societies that have dealt with environmental disasters in a number of ways. The book is called "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed".

In addition to an extensive discussion of Haiti's environmental difficulties there are a number of other societies that are examined. It is a fascinating book.

Ah, no, I actually have never seen any information about this.

And I have never felt the need to know anything about it.

Furthermore, I can't imagine why anyone would be even remotely curious about it, seeing the utter wasteland Haiti has been for the past 100 years or more.

In fact, I seriously doubt that this type of information even exists, given that people in Haiti are spending all their time (1) killing each other, (2) starving and trying to get a boat to leave, (3) killing each other, (4) worshiping witch doctors and zombie-freaks, (5) killing each other, (6) rioting, (7) killing each other, (8) starving and trying to get a boat to leave, (9) fighting peace keepers sent by the United Nations, (10) fighting game-cocks or shooting craps, (11) killing each other, or (12) starving and trying to get a boat to leave.

Frankly, i need to ask you why you got stuck with such a moronic essay theme. Is your teacher from Haiti? If so, your parents need to report this person to the school board as wasting his/her students time on trash topics.

Best--next time, get a different teacher, don't schedule this one again, or start at a different school.
