Everyone has a dream. A dream to own a successful, prosperous identity in life. For most of us, the red-signal starts there, and our journey halts - shattering our ambitions to pieces. Being pensive is not what can bring us close to our goal, it’s the hard work we do, and the perseverance we bring out. The backbone of our achievements is knowledge, and to what extent we can use it. I am very confident that Wilmington Charter this school a field of intelligence, and improve my abilities in an effective, progressive manner.

I am currently completing my final year of a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies and will like to complete a postgraduate degree in Primary teaching (3-7 year olds) before i leave England. I would like to know if it is worth while me applying and completing a postgraduate degree in England as I am not 100% certain what qualifications you need in Canada and whether my postgraduate degree will be a recognised qualification there. If i do complete my postgraduate degree in England will i have to undertake any exams or degrees' in Canada in order to qualify?

Many thanks

The glass of water you’re about to drink
Deserves a second thought, I think.
For Avogadro, oceans and those you follow
Are all involved in every swallow.
The molecules of water in a single glass
In number, at least five times, outclass
The glasses of water in stream and sea,
Or wherever else that water can be.
The water in you is between and betwixt,
And having traversed is thoroughly mixed,
So someone quenching a future thirst
Could easily drink what you drank first!
The water you are about to taste
No doubt represents a bit of waste
From prehistoric beast and bird—
A notion you may find absurd.
The fountain spraying in the park
Could well spout bits of Joan of Arc,
Or Adam, Eve, and all their kin;
You’d be surprised where your drink has been!
Just think! The water you cannot retain
Will some day hence return as rain,
Or be held as the purest dew.
Though long ago it passed through you! Written by Verne N. Rockcastle

To anyone who works in childcare:

Do you feel that a bachelors degree is necessary to teach in a preschool? Why or why not? Do you feel that an associates degree is necessary? As far as I'm aware most centers just require 24 ECE units. What do you think?

Teachers are mostly level headed people. Shouldn't we just have them qualify with a handgun and keep them armed in the classroom with a tethered, trigger locked handgun?

That way we can nip the psychos in the bud without losing innocent kids and staff. It would also command more respect from the kids during class. Ie, a kid is less likely to throw a paper airplane at you if you have a .44 Magnum strapped to your hip.

I am doing a paper on this. I believe that if evolution is taught, then we should also teach creation. I need points on this paper on why both should be taught. I need a lot of points... I hope you can help...

I'm in grade 9.
We had a math test today.
We had a fire drill, disabling me from finishing the test.
I had 1 question to do that was worth 7 marks.
There were 3 other students that didn't finish because of the fire drill as well.
We asked if we could finish it tomorrow, she said she'll think about what is fair.
What are the chances of her letting me finish?

i'm in 8th grade and go to catholic school, but i myself don't believe in god(along with many other people in my class.) My teachers force us to pray though even if we don't want to. i feel strongly that this isn't right, even catholics shouldn't be forced to pray, because prayer is suppose to be meaningful, not forced. i need more opinions though to prove to my teacher how wrong it is, so i'd like to know what you think about it?

Now, grades and numbers are mearly all that matter anymore. The fact of education is slipping away. The fact of going to school is to learn, but nowadays it seems that people only go to get good grades. It doesn't even matter if you truly understand it anymore, just if you cant pass by and get that A+ on the test. What is your take on this?

I always hear that professors need to attain tenure to have their job? And that it's difficult to attain or something?

If someone wanted to be a professor, how would they go about getting their tenure? What does that even me?

Can someone explain it to me, not through wikipedia, I tried looking it up but I just go confused. I don't understand what "tenure" is!!

For years, U.S. schools haven't been instilling many students with the basic math, writing, and reading abilities they need to succeed in our world--and we're improving very little.

Oh sure, it might be helping "poor" schools bring up their test scores. But, they're not an honest, holistic assessment of students' analytical capabilities. I'm not against testing, per se. But, NCLB forces teachers to teach kids to know how to handle the test and prevents teachers from developing and strengthing the intellectual and creative abilities of their students. The VAST majority of my new college classmates still DID NOT feel prepared for college at all! Talk about large federal infringement by my fellow Republicans.

In Kentucky, where I live, schools have to meet a goal of 100 points by 2014 to be labeled as "proficient." Ky.'s testing accountability rules were changed in '07 to bring the state closer to meeting NCLB stipulations. Read here: http://www.kentucky.com/211/story/196788.html
