It's scary to think about. I am asked all kinds of questions in a day. Today, the main topic seemed to be what my first name is. What's your real name? I just tell them Miss. Can I sharpen my pencil? Can I get another pencil? What does this word say? Can I go to the bathroom? Can I get a piece of candy? Was I good today? How old are you? What page are we on? Can I have a kleenex? When is lunch? What's for lunch? When's school out? Can I switch seats? Why is Johnny drawing in his book?

Then I start teaching. Another 50 questions.

It's gotta be at least 100 questions in a day. It's exhausting. Especially when you are asked something you have just explained and you know the student was absolutely paying zero attention to you the first two times you explained it. One person asks to use the bathroom so you get 10 more of the same question. It's amazing how all the noses get runny at the exact same time.

This is an interesting question. I think the answer depends on several factors. If a topic is explained thoroughly and in a way in which students can relate, there will generally be fewer questions for a teacher to answer. Also the subject being taught and size of the class can play a part in the number of questions. In a day, I bet most teachers answer hundreds of questions. Everything from the simple, "Do we turn in this paper?" counts as a question, and over the 7-hour span of a school day, these collect.

As many as her students ask, if she's a good teacher! Sometimes the answer is "I don't know, let's find out!" But that's still an answer!

probably a couple hundred. i mean, in one day, they're asked at least 50 times pointless questions such as can i go to the bathroom? can i go get my binder? can i sit with her? and then there's probably a hundred questions related to the course! god, i admire teachers..
