""I am a teacher and I work closely with one other teacher in particular. She is new to our school this year. We work in an annexe which we share with three other teachers in our department. We have no head of department and most teachers in the school find our administration to be chaotic and unreliable. The teacher whom I refer too talks of her last school in a highly unprofessional manner. She is always late to work and leaves the minute the bell goes at the end of the day. Yesterday another collegue and I heard her speaking to a small group of Grade Nine students. she told them that one of their peers was"stuipid" and a "total retard." We were just outside her room, so we heard her quite clearly. What should we do?""

The argument whether uniforms should be allowed in school has been debated over the last few decades. By implementing a uniform policy within schools help the school systems. School uniforms would not only help unruly classrooms, but also treats students as a whole and teachers would see students as equal from appearance.

can you help me make this a stronger introduction for my essay

Some of my pre-algebra students don't take notes when I'm giving them. I think the original teacher didn't mind (I am the student teacher). Should I make a big deal of it? PS: It is high school.

25 here. I'm wondering if the seniors will have a problem with my authority, as I am 7 or 8 years older than them. I think they will challenge me in ways that they would not a 40 year old.

I feel like I can not shut my mind off....I get home and I grade papers and I get prepared for the next day and I always feel as if I am thinking about school. Any recommendations? I want to be more relaxed when I get home.

okay, i have to admit that i did a lot of bad things to this teacher...but not rude things (like when it comes to sending your homework or assignment, i didn't do that)...although i'm a prefect in my school, i still have very complex complications about the subject she was teaching...and the subject is about household economics...so, i did cooking, sewing & all those bullshit...i'm not very good at those, plus i HAVE TO learn that subject (a must for all the girl students)...

but each time when she's mad at me, she likes to yell really, really loud...even the whole school can hear it...she sometimes slaps me on the face...i feel embarrassed sometimes, but that's her attitude...she did this to other students also...and we just can't take it anymore...she'll give us a cow-load of homework and makes us send it to her in a short time...

how can i possibly confront her in a very manner way? she's giving me a lot of suicide attempts this year...i can't take it anymore...

My teacher groups the people she likes in one area then groups the people she doesnt like in another. Our class is small, only 13 people. There are 4 people in the class she doesnt like and I am one of them. She gives favourable marks to the group she likes even when our work is clearly superior. I'd like to request an audit of her grading habits. I'm not sure how to do this, does anyone know how?

Recent events have shown my wife that most of the students in one of her 7th grade classes feel that beating a person up for sitting in your seat is an appropriate (and commendable - they were applauding the attacker when he came back from suspension) way to behave.

Has anyone had any success in changing this kind of attitude, and if so - how?

I'm a first-year math and physics teacher, so being the new person I got the classes that no one else wanted. I admit I started out way too laid-back with them. Of course they took advantage and walked all over me, so I had to kind of crack down on them. So now it's getting to the point that they all hate me! I can't speak for every student, but I know that when I was in high school I didn't really listen to the teachers that I didn't like or respect. I'm afraid this is going to affect their ability (or willingness) to learn the material in my class - and they need it for the ACT!!! What can I do to keep them behaving, but also keep enough respect that they learn something from me???

I need a "pretend pizza" for an activity--the kids are going to put the "fake/construction paper" pepperonies and peppers on it as we go along in the lesson but I need it to start out just a plain cheese pizza. How can I make one, or does anyone know where I can find one to print out. I don't want it to look like a real pizza...any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am teaching a class on programming methods. I have one study, who comes to every class and tries his best. But he can't seem to get the basic idea of programming.

I have gone through a range of different examples and methods in programming (eg, Pseudocode, flowcharts, PSDs, DSDs etc). He doesn't get any of it.

Can anyone suggest a website I can refer him to that might help him?

I left a school in another state where I taught high school biology to mostly 10th graders. There were a few students I had that came from foster care, or similar rough backgrounds and I am still worried about them, and concerned because no one seemed to love them. Sometimes I worry to the point of tears. Am I just a huge emotional over reactor? I keep in touch with a few of them on myspace (they initiated contact) but I seldom hear from them. It has been over a year since I moved away.
