I always like the argument for school uniforms that calls them " the Great Equalizer" because they put all children on the same level. There are no rich or poor children ...just children and to teach them or play with them, you have to judge them on their actual individual merits, not some image created by their individual economic rendered clothes. Maybe you can work that in there?:)

The argument of whether school students should wear uniforms has been debated over the last few decades. Those for school uniforms advocate by implementing a uniform policy students would behave better due to less peer pressure through the medium of clothing.
A good idea for a debate is to write down your arguments and points as a guideline. Alot can be said for uniforms (no gang colors, less problems with people going against dress code, students seeing each other as individuals more than a 'type' of person, geek jock, etc., teachers do not see students "as equal from appearance", beside being worded poorly I would hope they see students for who they are regardless of their clothing styles.

The argument whether uniforms should be allowed in school has been debated over the last few decades. It is my view that requiring uniforms in schools would be beneficial since they would help keep order in the classroom and would encourage teachers to treat students more equally.
This would be an introductory paragraph. You would have to go on and discuss in more detail the reasons why you think uniforms are a good idea.

I see the main arguments in favor of school uniforms as:
1. It eliminates the daily stress (esp among girls) of what to wear and whether they will appear cool enough.
2. It helps the students mentally because by putting on the uniform of a student, it helps them become a student. It is part of the ritual of getting ready to go to school each day and learn. In their own clothes, they are themselves. In their uniform, they are a student and think and act like a student.
3. It promotes school pride because you all look alike and this encourages a kind of team spirit.
4. Even though the uniforms are often not cheap, by reducing clothing-oriented competition, it can actually reduce clothing costs for families.
5. The poorest and the wealthiest students look sorta the same, which encourages equality of treatment from both other students and teachers.
The argument over whether school uniforms are desirable has been going on for decades. I contend that the implementation of a school uniform policy has many advantages. Among other things, school uniforms help to improve classroom discipline and to reduce discrimination, both casual and deliberate, among students of different backgrounds and means.

You have made a couple good points. Now, where's the passion? Yes, uniforms in the schools would get rid of inappropriate dressing, fashion competitions, fashion disasters, prejudices toward those financially less fortunate who afford little in clothing, it keeps things even and equal across the board and it just plain makes sense. Less money spent on attire, more focus on studies and TRUE individuality that comes from one's personality and once again, school can be all about what's in our youth's brain!! Not a tank top, mini skirt or some other form of distraction for other students as well as staff. Obviously, I'm a supporter of uniforms in schools. Write your essay from the heart. Forget it takes pen and paper. Hope it reaps you an A+!!

I strongly disagree with making everyone wear uniforms in school. By not having a uniform policy, students are able to express themselves and be who & what they are by expressing this in what they wear. A uniform policy could also infringe on some peoples culture or religious background. Making student wear uniforms won't change an unruly class room. You still have trouble makers no matter what they're wearing. Write up a poll for opinions and give a copy to every faculty member asking them what their opinion would be regarding every faculty member to wear the same uniform or all of them dressing alike.

Uniforms should be allowed in school.. State your case strongly with your first sentece. Then your points why, then end with "This is an argument that has been debated multiple times over the past decade and its time to end the debate" or something like that

Mandatory school uniforms would make schools not only a better place, but
a better learning environment. Uniforms give a sense of belonging and prevent
dress code problems. School uniforms are also very cost effective.
Some students feel they have to have the expensive designer clothes to fit in
and be “cool”. Uniforms would allow every to wear the same thing and help kids
fit in. Not only would it help kids fit in but it would help kids concentrate on
school not what they are wearing.
Schools have reported problems with gang colors and dress codes. There
have also been reports of problems of kids being beat up for there clothes. These
kids were beat up because they were either wearing a certain color or they were
being robbed of their expensive clothes. Uniforms would prevent in appropriate
dress prevent gang color problems and thefts of clothing.
Today’s designer clothes are very expensive. A pair of jeans for example
can cost 70 to over a hundred dollars. According to 3 sets of school uniforms
cost not more than 70 dollars. This 70 dollars includes 3 dress shirts and 3 pairs of
pants for the cost of one pair of designer jeans. Some states even have state
funding for uniforms this could bring the cost down to nothing.
Inconclusion school uniforms are cost effective and prevent many problems
schools shouldn’t have to deal with. Uniforms help kids feel more comfortable in
school and would be one less thing students and parents have to worry about.

Good start – I like your topic sentence! A good move would be to build on that sentence. In your paragraph, you have a strong topic sentence about the debate about school uniforms, but then you start talking about how it will benefit schools! That would be okay later on in your paper, but the whole point of a good first paragraph is to sum up what you are about to say. If you start your paper talking about the school uniform argument, then you should write more about that. Who supports the idea? Who doesn’t? Your secret weapon here is the news. Check lots of online news pages for more info about where people stand on the issue. Of course, you have perfect right to express your opinion later in the report, but for now just stick to summarizing the main theme.

Im just not decided on the uniforms. I think they are good for the fact that students wouldnt know the rich from the poor by looking at their clothes and that would stop a lot of cruelty. But i also think that kids should be allowed to express theirselves. Wear what they want to as long as its allowable by the dress code. Im sure i didnt help you any.
