When I lose my cool at work, I often find myself yelling at my boss. I care for and teach toddlers (1-2 1/2 years old) and have high stress sometimes when there are other things going on in my life. I don't want to be insubordinate and yell, but that's what it comes to sometimes and it's not anything that my boss did or didn't do... It's mostly in my mind. I set high expectations on myself and get stressed when things don't go the way I'd hoped. Please any suggestions that I can do around toddlers would be nice so that they don't have to see me blow my cool. I'd like suggestions on what I can do while still caring for these children. Also how to not yell at my boss because it's not her fault.

I am teaching 6th class about poverty in our world and I would like to give them a poem highlighting the situation but i can't find any? Also if you know of any song/drama that would be great? And is there anyone we could write to to complain about the issue as a class or anything?...Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!

I am currently a teacher in England (been teaching for 3 years). Next year, we are thinking of moving to southern Ireland. Does anyone know whether it is easy to get a teaching job over there or if there are extra Irish qualifications i need to be able to teach (as i assume the curriculum is slightly different). Any help greatly appreciated Thanks

I teach ninth-grade English, and to develop my students' writing ability, I offer daily journals that they respond to. The length of their reply must be at least 3/4 of a page long; this is to discourage any laconic replies and to encourage elaboration and support. I'm looking for some prompts that they would enjoy and feel eager to reply to. Thanks.

There was a issue at my son's school where the teacher stood in front of the class, and made a announcement that basiclly drew attention to my son and his friend. She wants students to come to her if they have a complanit, exspeacilly if my son was involed. And if so she will make sure that he will be removed from school. I am not saying my son is a angel but for a teacher to singal him out like that is wrong, and all the school wants me to do is put my complaint in writing and they will look it over...I would like to add that my son is white and his teacher is black... I point this out because I feel if it was the other way around this would be handle in a different and more quickly matter. ..
First my Son is taught to listen to the teacher, He is a stright A student in high school and has never had a issue in any classes until now! This teacher has repeatly broke the guide lines of his IEP and we have had lots of meeting with her. My son is indeed Adha, bipolor, and odd.

I agree, the computer is useful. But also are useful reading books,
make sport, meet with friends,etc.
How many time we spend with the computer(Internet, games, etc),
versus other useful activities ?
Or, the others activities are obsolete ? I do not know .

I was bullied by the gym teacher(when I was a teen)I was not good in sports and PE.The teacher called me names like fag and sissy in front of the class. One time I missed the ball in volley ball and He took me and threw me against the wall and said what is wrong with you.I reported it to
the principal and he said I deserved it and it will make me try harder.Said you deseved to be punished when you are
not good at something.
The next time he thew me against the wall and called me
a ****** because I was not good in PE class I cussed him out and got suspened for 2 weeks and my parents went to
the s school board about this and the coach lied his way out out of it.None of my classmates would speak up as
a witness because I guess they were afraid.
When you are a kid how do you stand up for yourself with
abusive adults?

Well.. One day at practice my coach had threatened to punch me in the face if i did not do this move right. AND..I know she wasn't joking about it because she had made it clear in front of the team that she was serious. So would that threat be an illegal action of my coach?

I am teaching Japanese children between the ages of 12-18. I have one class ( of 15-year-olds ) where there are about six kids who are really hard work. They are rude and don't do their work. I teach them only twice a week, and their other English teacher yells a lot. Which doesn't help. I'm frustrated because they are smart kids, but they just behave like brats. In other classes I've sorted out problems with good results ( kids motivated and, if not well-behaved, then not actively nasty ), but I'm coming up against a brick wall here... Help!

I am a grades 3-5 gifted and talented teacher and I really enjoy writing lesson plans. Since they are for a gifted program, they are very interactive and hands-on. I think (and I've been told) they are pretty good. Are these marketable to any company??? I have a bunch and I figured it might be worth selling them?

I am an aspiring teacher who is very much excited about entering into the world of elementary education. Currently, I am enrolled in a 18-month alternative teaching certification program (content area: social studies) and, hopefully, will be working as a full-time teacher by August of this year. I was just wondering if there are any teaching professionals out there that could shed some light on the profession, offer a little advice, and/or offer a few tips that will help me along the way. Any response you could provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a masters degree and over 20 years experience in adult psychiatry. I'm "semi-retired", working as a personal care aide for two special needs children in middle school, and being a full-time mom. My "baby" is in middle school and will be graduating in six years. What do I do if I decide I want to teach, to become a "professional" again? Where do I start? What tests do I take? I live in PA. Who do I call?
