Letter?...Please make corrections and whatever else you think will help her understand my situation better. Thank you in advance.

Dear Ms.Thiel,

How are you? I hope your weekend is going well.

I have emailed you because I recall that on Friday, you asked our 5th period Honors English class to bring in the corrected & graded copy of the Persuasive Essay. However, I do not remember ever recieving it back. I do remember that you handed it back to us so that we could see or grades but then, I also remember you recollecting it. After this, I never remember recieving it back.

I have looked through my English notebook and folder. In addition, I have also searched through the rest of my folders and notebooks with the doubt that I may have misplaced it. However, I have not found the essay yet- after looking for it in the period of this weekend.

I think that a possible explanation for this is that I was absent the day you handed it back to us and so,

I teach freshman English at a community college. This semester I am teaching an on-line section. I will surely have the students read each other's drafts but I was hoping they could get even more feedback from the fine people who answer questions here. Would it be appropriate for my students to come here and ask people to read their drafts? They would obviously have to email the drafts to willing people. Do you think people here would be willing to help new writers in this way?

I have mostly windows in my room and I am not complaining about that :) Then I have one long wall with a brand new white board and one wall for the children's jackets/book bags.. So I am left with one tiny side wall for the word wall and the listening center is along that wall as well as computers. I hang posters with words over the old chalkboard that stands on rollers in the room. I am wanting to figure out where to put more words since I have a huge collection that I have purchased and I would like to add more from the ones in our stories. I want to keep my room looking uncluttered so what are some ideas of places to put new words so they can be seen. A lot of the words I purchased are not very big. Plus students sit at tables and don't have a place for a huge folder with words. I am sorry if this sounds a bit confusing. I just need some ideas of where to hang word cards for students to see.

This semester, I'm mentoring my first-ever student teacher in my junior high classroom. So far it's going well and we are communicating about her needs and goals, but I'm interested in advice from either experienced cooperating teachers or current/recent student teachers. What secrets to success do you have? Anything to avoid? Words to the wise?

I have been a middle school teacher for nearly six years. I find the classroom to be tedious and overwhelming with the needs of an unrealistic bureaucracy and out-of-control students. If you are/were a teacher who left, or thought about leaving, the profession, into which new field did you move? I am mostly interested in knowing about new jobs you can get without going back to school and earning a new degree. I have thought about teaching education at the collegiate/community college level, considering I have a master's degree and real-life experience.

Everybody is so mean to teachers. They make fun of them and they know it, overlooking it to stay on our good sides. They prepare long lessons only for students to sleep through. They prepare long book discussions only so students can wonder what they are talking about, as half of them did not read the eight page storey that was assinghned the night before. They work for minimal paychecks.

This was a question posted on an education blog i read (http://electronicmentoring.blogspot.com/2005/04/just-why-do-so-many-teachers-leave.html).

There were some great responses on the blog, but I wanted to hear what sort of insight members of the Yahoo! Answers community have on this question.

I'm really scared...pleaseee helppp!?
Okay, so on Friday my English teacher told us to bring our previous essay that she had corrected and graded in again. She had collected it after giving us our grades and supposidly, given it back after a while. Thing is, I don't ever remember getting it back and I even went through allllllllllllllll my stuff- including other subject folders and notebooks...&& did not find it. Thing is, she's REALLY moody with me..some days, she's really sweet and friendly with me and the others,well...she's just plain rude and yea...I'm worried to tell her I don't remember getting it back and if we did, I don't/can't find it..

What do you think i Should do?!....=[[[
