How do you choose students to participate (which students get the highest priority)? Volunteer coaches or paid employees? Success stories?

I have been to a couple of local conferences but I would like to hear what's going on in other places.

I've recently signed up to go back to school to become an elementary school teacher with a middle school endorsement. It will be a career change for me, and I'm nervous that I'm not doing the right thing.

Lately I've noticed that when I'm around kids in certain situations, I get very cranky. Children running around a restaurant, or kids playing in the hot tub at a hotel, or yelling and whining in movie theathers and stores.

To teachers, do you think that my reactions to children in the above situations indicates that I'm not cut out to be a teacher?

This is my 7th year teaching At at a middle school. The kids I deal with are tough. Well that is a tough age anyway. I know I am good at what I do & feel certain I am fulfilling my destiny but I am just to burned out right now to give them the attention they all need. I have been struggling just to come to work lately. Alot of the teachers here feel the same way. What can I do to become inspired again?
