Apply at colleges, many colleges would be glad to hire you. They might not be the state universities, but they are a start. Try ITT, DeVry, UOPhoenix, local community and junior colleges, etc.

Many Community Colleges hire those like you. All you have to do is contact your college and ask if they will get you into ex-turn or intern programs. You will not get paid for that. You could also find an interest in your field and start group that will help you earn experience. Call your college, they should be able to help you.

Speak to the head of the department at the college where you would like to gain the experience. You might be able to volunteer your time, as an intern or student teacher, and gain some experience.
