All throughout my elementray school years i had 6 great teachers..all nice yet knew how to raise their voices if needed. I think a good teacher would be someone who can show kindness to kids..but also know when to stop with the kindness..when people get outta hand.

Being strict from day one, and maintaining a good academic atmosphere from the first minute you walk into that class - but after establishing who's boss, really surprising your students by relaxing, and rewarding them with fun activities when they do the work.

Noticing individual merit, and commenting on it when you get the chance. Having the guts to say that you do not know that answer, or you were wrong.. and add that its is nice to be caught out, well done.. so and so ...

Not being a push-over, demanding a very high standard, marking lower than average, to raise the bar, and giving constructive advice. The students I teach don't always appreciate me when I am actually teaching them, but I get far more letters and cards from ex-students than my colleagues, because they were prepared for their exams better than some of their peers were by more popular teachers.

Making sure that teaching is your CAREER, not a "time-clock job".

A true dedication to further students' learning by using various teaching strategies.

Furthering your own education through professional development courses and personal hobbies OUTSIDE of the classroom.

Good classroom rules and being strict, but fair.

A clean classroom--students tend to feel much safer and comfortable (at least in my room).

A sense of humor!

**Students LOVE great teachers!**

characteristics that i've got considered in efficient instructors are flexibility, capability, dedication to scholars, enthusiasm, willingness to stay in touch with societal changes and developments, keeping an open concepts, and an understanding of scholars' desires and issues. instructors who reason rigidity between scholars or who purely can't look to get by using to them are people who're lazy, come to artwork with out leaving their domicile issues at domicile, are actually not prepared to stay in touch with what's happening of their scholars' lives, and who do not prefer to take the attempt and time to confirm why the pupil is appearing out or having problems at college. coaching isn't rather a lot passing on tips; that is approximately educating an entire person.

I once read this quotation about teachers which I found true:

A good teacher explains,
A superior teacher demonstrates,
A great teacher inspires.

While you impart knowledge to your students, you must also impart in them the thirst for more knowledge.
