Your cute teenage student is walking home alone in the rain, or in a bad neighborhood, or in the rain in a bad neighborhood and you just happen to be driving by. Do you give her a ride? According to my school you should never be alone in a car with a student, especially not one of the opposite sex. But how would you feel if you just drove by and then found out something happened to her?

I teach in an large city urban district, ethical dilemmas include
1. Ignoring the fact many of my students are in gangs. I could lecture on this but the truth is if they do not belong to a gang in the neighborhoods they live in they and their families are in danger.
2. Do I suspend children who misbehave (which is our school districts policy) when I know they will be on the streets if they are not in school or they will miss the only real meal they get each day at lunch?
3. When a student comes to me with a problem and asks me to keep it a secret but its against the law to do so, how do I protect the child, do my job and not loose trust?

Most of the money in my area is made by the oil industry. It also causes most of the environmental damage (logging, runoff, etc.) I've been told to play down the effects of the oil industry on the local environment so that I don't offend any students or parents who are involved in the industry.
