I agree, the computer is useful. But also are useful reading books,
make sport, meet with friends,etc.
How many time we spend with the computer(Internet, games, etc),
versus other useful activities ?
Or, the others activities are obsolete ? I do not know .

I agree that there needs to be a balance of activites, social, physicial, mental and interactive on many levels. Reading a book should be recreational as well as educational. That being said, most schools will soon come to the point where there will be no more text books, all texts will be online. All students will have laptops. We will have a paperless educational system soon. How sad they will never know the feel of opening a new book, the crack of the spine and the smell of fresh ink on paper.

Because, computers control the world now. Plus most of the things you read online come with real photos and stuff to look at , books are just getting a little old, in my opinion.

Computers have new info all the time. You can read books online, meet people online, do anything online. Computers have somewhat replaced reading books.

I Used to read books all the time, but now when I read, its on the internet. I suppose I like it because I can shift to any topic at any time. I recently tried to pick up a book (Eragon to be exact), but just can't get into it anymore. I think its kinda sad myself, but not too worried about it.

I don't understand the obsession with technology either. Parts of it are fun, but I value REAL connection and books etc. so much more.
