It is a frequent complaint from the students that soft voice makes lesson very boring and sleepy. If true, any suggestion to improve?

Male British teachers didn't have soft voices in my day but if they did they would have been preferable to the German we had for German who would yell, throw board rubbers and hit heads with keys (gives era away!). As a female British teacher with a soft voice though, I had to learn to project my voice and speak louder with more intonation. My students don't say I'm boring though they are often asleep, LOL.

It's not true that male british teachers have soft voices - it's an insane generalisation.. but if it's true for you, try varying the volume - don't fall into the trap of always shouting. but allow your voice to be just quiet enough that students have to concentrate to hear you, and if any of them look as though they are getting sleepy (though it seems rather like an excuse to me) suddenly raise your voice - it will shock them awake.
