I'm starting high school this September, and I am placing out of Algebra I. Now, my high school offers two science options:

a. The traditional science sequence: Biology, chemistry, and then physics.
OR
b. The ARISE sequence: Physics, chemistry, and then biology. (This is for students that place out of Algebra I.)

Im a junior and I am supposed to go to our elementary school to teach the first grade a lesson about smoking. I am a member of Stand Tall which promotes a drug free lifestyle, and also to make good decisions. Tomorrow is "Kick Butts" day and we are to prepare a lesson about smoking. I would really like to find some games we could play that can incorperate something with saying no to smoking. Please help me with ideas of games to play!

I'm a high school freshman now, and I plan to be a member of NHS in my junior year, but I heard that you have to be in NJHS when you were in middle school in order to be a part of NHS, is that true?

I had a child throw up right in the entranceway to my classroom today, on the carpet. Of course our school only had kitty litter to put on the chunks. After that sat for 35 minutes (because I couldn't find a broom and dustpan to sweep it up with), I finally swept it up, then used Resolve carpet cleaner with granules and scrubed then let it sit. I sprayed Lysol on the carpet. My Headmaster put a trashbag over this concoction so that the students could enter the room! Hopefully tonight, the janitors will vacuum the granules and the rest of the chunks up there wasn't one in the school)! But doesn't the carpet need to be steam cleaned???? Is it sanitary for the kids to go back in there? Oh, get this, I actually was expected to clean all of this without gloves...there were none (and I did!). Needless to say this isn't a public school. I don't plan on teaching at this school again next year...I'm wondering if I should even return tomorrow. What does the rest of the world think?

I am in high school. If I told a teacher that I trusted that I was pregnant, whould she be obligated to tell someone? I know that if a student tells a teacher he/she is being abused, the teacher has to tell, but is it the same with pregnancy? And don't judge me because I am not pregnant; I just am curious.

I'm a freshman in high school,I have a plan to graduate in next two years.
The main reason is that I'm one year older than other freshman, cause my birthday is on August,so I waited one year later to start school,I feel I'm so old!
I talked to my counselor. But she said that's not a good idea, here is her theory:
1st,people who do that usually have some things to take care, like a baby,or going to military directly
2nd,to my surprise,if you gradate early, you're probably not getting into good college, cause good college wants people to take AP courses,if you want to squezze your classes together in order to finish early, you may not take AP classes. Also, you don't have that much time to do commnunity service and school activities that good college care about
3rd, she said age is not even a problem, I shouldn't even consider about it,but to me,it is!
So, do you think age is a problem? And is that ture that if you graduate early, you are not getting in good college?

And we have the worst

Why dont all schools go and get the entire Dutch Sex ed progrma and introduce it telling the dumb parents who get their kids pregnant to go jump citing the evidence proving them wrong.

And also bring in laws to have force them to let their kids attend ...

Therefore dropping our teen pregnancy rate to minute just like the Dutch creating far more relaxed mature teenagers in the process.

Theses starts 4-6 year old... is constant ... see links

My daughter will be turning 5 Sept. 9th and i am shopping around for a good, well qualified public school in Orange County.

I live in Anaheim, and the Public School system is a mystery to me as i was in Private Schools all my life. I would like to enroll my daughter in a private school, but most require her to be 5 by Sept. 1st (which means she would not be enrolled until the following year! i don't want her to fall behind).

Any suggestions or advice ANYONE??? Please....thank you!
