The bill was just changed so that we couldn't do that, and before the bill, our first day of school was aug. 2 or 3rd, tell me if you agree that that is bogus! We shouldnt' be in school in aug!

It gets quite hot where I live in Aug...even in Sept! The school folks are lazy and won't fix the AC. I'd much rather get out in June, and go in Sept, then get out in May, go in Aug.

Why not? After school, you'll be working 52 weeks a year, there is no harm in getting used to it now.

If you are a student, I can understand why you think this is bogus. But actually, there is more reasons to keep you out of school during the hottest days of summer. Most students don't concentrate well during heat, and most schools were built with inadequate air conditioning due to the age of the School. If my memory serves me right, School was set to start after daylight savings time changed back, so that the days would be cooler.

I don't agree. When do you normally get out off school?I used to start school around August 28 and get out like on June 7, but that was changed so we would start on September 5 and still get out on June 7, they just cut our vacations short, which stinks, but at least we won't be in school for long during the summer.

School will start in Louisiana on, I think it is August 13 this fall.

We go back to school on August 1st. Ends on May 18.. well May 8th for SENIORS!!!! O& ROCKS :) too bad kiddo.... but its not that bad,... the earlier you start the earlier it ends.

my school ends in JULY... behappy the earlier you start the earlier you end... in september we start on the 10th.... i agree entirely... on the last couple of days we stare at the clock sweating our butts off. its not fun... august isnt as bad as july.. believe me
