I believe around 3rd grade would be good as most 3rd graders are around 8 years old and are beginning to be more cognizant of the opposite sex and sex acts.
If you wait until what some call middle school; which is generally when the child is going into teenhood; many of them these days are already sexually active and it may be too late for a sex-ed class.
When parents register a child for pre-K or Kindergarten, the parent(s) should be given a syllabus of what the child will be taught in that schools sex education class(es) so that the parent can better PRE-TEACH the child at home in accord with the parents beliefs.
I believe sex education should be mandatory and it should cover EVERYTHING sexual that THIS society considers to be legal; INCLUDING the fact that there are others that pratice, what some like to call, alternative lifesyles; i.e. homosexuality and lesbianism.
I believe that ALL BEHAVIOR IS LEARNED.
Physiologically, sexual urges are natural but the act of sex can be perverted and abused if/when one is left to his or her own self teaching; the misguided teaching of others or their own machinations and not taught our cultural and societies accepted *what and how to's* to manage the urges, temptations, misguidance and peer pressure that will come with puberty.
It shoud be psychological development as well as age appropriate
beginning with 3rd grade until graduation from high school.
There should be psychological testing throughout the school year and years to monitor the childs psychological development as well.
That might prevent some from becoming rapist, robbers, murderers, drug abusers and engaging in other miscreant behavior.
I also believe that there should be some fundamental parenting classes taught beginning with freshman year in high school until graduation.
Let us all take an honest look at your child(ren) and see if he or she or they are exhibiting behavior not conducive to your and societal values.

My daughter is 8 years old and is very smart at calling out the answers to her math homework, but when it comes down to her sitting down to do the homework she comes up with all kinds of excuses not to complete the work. Then there is reading and answering questions and once again here comes the excuse's for the reason for her not to complete it. I am running out of patience with her, but homework is important. She knows the work, its the same everyday, reading comphension and math. I don't want her to fall behind but I feel she is just too lazy. Do you have any ideas to help me with my daughter and the homework time limit. She does get like 6 pages a day and really gets mad because she doesn't have enough time to play after school.

I passed 3 out of 7 exams. On the application for UC schools I specified that. Put I did not an "official" score transcript. So will that affect my acceptance or not at all?

I just realized now that I have done score reports to all 9 schools I applied to only for SAT and ACT. UCLA is the only school that has the official transcript for AP exams. Would that offical transcript for AP exams affect other schools like UC Berkely or UC San Diego? Or do they believe the applicant?

I'm asking for a friend who's transferring to a public school in Scarborough from a private school in Toronto next year. Are there a specific number of courses that're assigned to students in a public school without a student having to choose in one year? If so, how many?

Or does she have to choose the courses that she wants to take? If so, how many can she choose for one year?

I am doing a debate in school, and I only need reasons why it should be taught. Nothing for why it shouldn't

I'm a tenured social studies teacher, but my position has been cut from next year's budget, so now I'm out of a job next year after 5 years. I'm considering changing careers, but am not quite sure what I'm "qualified" to do with my education.

I really don't want to move, but would if it paid better than what I make now. I'm 35, and have a wife and 2 kids, and somewhat think this has happened for a reason, and the right job will fall into my lap.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am home-schooled, and I have been told by many that I am very intelligent. A genius, even. I am an excellent writer, a wonderful strategist, and basically very good at everything my mother gives me… Except math.

My mother tells me that I will not be able to achieve anything if I do not learn math. But, I do not think that I ‘can’ learn math. It is like, my mother will give me something, like adding fractions, and it will take me hours to finish, and my mother will have to tell me how to solve the problems repeatedly. And after I learn what she is trying to teach me, I just forget... It is funny. I have been able to write and read on a college grade level since before I turned ten, but I still have trouble with my times tables.

So, does my inability to do math mean that I will never go anywhere with my life?
