I used to believe that it was illegal for teachers to give homework on Friday because there was a law against giving homework over the weekend. It wasn't until much older after years of refusing to do Friday homework that I found out that it was legal. But it worked in a way. I never took home my homework anyway, and did it all in school or during class. We needed books in class, and I did like carrying them back and forth from home and school just to do homework.

It's completely what you make it. If you sign up for Honors or AP courses, then you can expect a lot of work. If you only want to cruise through, then take the easy courses, but don't expect colleges to go crazy for you.

I would recommend taking challenging courses, but only if you can handle it.

Its really important to try hard when you're an underclassmen, because bad grades will still affect your final transcript when your ready to graduate.

Good luck.
