No she is not obligated to tell anyone.. This is not an academic behavior issue and it is not putting anyone at risk. These is not a cryout either(abuse report) Teachers are people that students trust and many times they feel confortable telling teachers things that they might not want others to say. Do not break the trust with your student, dont say anything.

depends on the teacher, student relationship and the teacher i guess. I mean she might think that it would be better for you if she told the parents or if she trusts you back and sees that you can handle it then she might not. I mean if the teacher views a student as a student then she might tell but if she views student as a friend or more then a student then she might not. Also we should keep in mind that teachers don't sign the disclosure stating that they can't share stuff, and she is not a doctor or anything so she might feel like betraying the parents and the school system.

I would think that there would have to be proof first, such as: the student has gained significant weight in her tummy area. If there's no indication of pregnancy, I would that a teacher wouldn't go out on a limb and assume it's true, but rather contact the school nurse to see if a pregnancy test could be discretely done. Then, if it's positive, you give the student a choice of either THEY tell their parents, or the teacher & nurse will!

It depends on the school policies but if the teacher felt that the student's health was a concern, then I think the teacher would be obliged to inform the appropriate people.

it depends on what country you're in and what kind of school(christian etc) but mostly i would say that no, there is no legal obligation, although, they may feel morally obligated, they're own views may be that parents have a right to know
(its diff with drugs though apparently, teachers are made by law to report a student who says they do drugs to the police)

No, definitely not. That teacher may feel oligated to tell someone but she has no right to tell someone if the pregnant woman doesn't want her to. The woman is not in danger, she's not harming anyone and she's not being harmed, so there is no reason to tell anyone. The woman should go out and seek help from someone who can help, and try to get advice from that teacher.
