Because they will be a burden to society when they can't get or keep jobs to support themselves or pay for medical insurance or when they wind up in jail. It's actually cheaper to educate them than to have them in jail for 1 year. It doesn't really stop at them, think of their future offspring who will also more than likely follow in their footsteps.... it's like the domino effect.

Because we are all human beings that should care about each other and because our dropouts will take care of the rest of us some day. Do you really want someone with no ambition taking care of you in a nursing home, or fixing your food, or other jobs that do not always require a high school diploma??? There are people in all those jobs who care a lot, but for those who don't ,the results can be dangerous or even deadly to society.

...because ignorance is very contagious and American schools have a 47% drop out rate nation wide. That is an epidemic that is helping to destroy our nation from the inside out.
