Primary & Secondary Education - November 2006

I'm torn between keeping my kids in the local catholic school vs. public. Our public school system is Fantastic from what I hear, and it would help us save for our 3 kids college Ed. so much more.
They are currently in catholic and my oldest is in 4th grade. Should we pull them out? What do you think?

ok.
i took this PLAN test during my freshman year (just to let u know i'm from texas) and there was this section on how many credits u want before u graduate and i didn't get that part and mark some random stuff and it added up 5 years get those credits.... but i'm not sure if thats a prediction.. [i hope it is]

well to sum it up i'm just scare that the result i have say about the 5 years, that i just told you about, that i have to finish hs school in 5 years.

if i dont know what i want to be when i grow up, what high school courses will help in many departments when i graduate? like, if i decide what i want to be after i graduate what classes should i take now that would help in many diffrent careers?

I have the hardest trouble trying to finish a book by a deadline or textbook chapter (AP class). Its not that I don't understand them or don't like to read. I LUV READING!!!! I'm just a slow reader. Any tips?

I just got off the phone with the principal of the school I work at. (I'm a history teacher). One of my best and brightest students has suffered a terrible tragedy. Just before school started in August this girl lost her father. He was a firefighter and was killed in the line of duty. Yesterday she and her mom were in a bad car crash. Her mom was killed instantly (car was apparently t-boned on the driver's side) and the girl was trapped in the car for twenty minutes before they were able to get her free. She was relatively uninjured. (Sprained wrist and bruised ribs and collar bone from the seatbelt plus some cuts). So basically this girl lost her father and has now watched her mom die. What can I say to her? She'll be living with her grandmother and they intend to keep her at her school to maintain what continuity they can. What words can I offer her in this really tough time. She's 13 and the guidance that is offered her can make or break her handling this. Any advice?

I am taking a survey on how many people would attend a carnival and how many ticket you would buy. The admission is $1.00 per person and 25 cents per ticket. 1 ticket is good for one ride or game.
The activities include:
Ring toss
Bouncer
Spin Art
Basketball
Balloon Blasters
Mini golf
Water ballon fight
Bumper Cars
Arcade

Food is provided.

There is a small picnic area, where people can bring their own food to share with other people.

Note: This is a survey for high school. I was given a $500 budget so the selection is pretty small.

I got good grades in 5th year, and am now in 6th year. I have an offer from a university for next year which is unconditional, so I have a chance of continuing education next year. I feel so lonely and I want to get out of this hole and do something worthwhile. I have been depressed for the last few weeks and I really need to get away! What should I do? Any advice? I had applied for Cambridge, so that idea would go out the window if I left and I have been doing a community placement at the vets and an open learning course of Geography and various other things which the school has organised, so I would feel really cruel if I left after they spent lots of time helping me! Getting a bit depressed that everyone else gets more answers than me on this thing aswell!! Is it because I ask rubbish questions or is it just me!
